TBH i don't think any spinner from this generation will be anything more then serviceable. I can see Australia picking four man pace attacks in the future, or a spin bowling all rounder, instead of a specialist spinner. I also don't see the point in giving a 3rd spinner a contract, for the sake of it, none of them deserve a contract. Better off rewarding one of young Tassie batsmen or someone like David Hussey, or maybe a 3rd keeper.

I think that's why there's been wraps on White, because he's been seen as that possible spinning all-rounder, who could bat at 7 or so. Especially in tandem with Watson. In an ideal world, you could have Watson and White in the side, and only need three specialist bowlers.

Gutted that Queensland fell 10 runs short.

In hindsight they probably didn't deserve to make it and after making 8 finals in a row, I guess it had to happen eventually.

Its sad to see the kind of mess The Redbacks are in atm , they really need some better management pretty soon.

They have some of the most talented young blokes in the country so The Redbacks better get their acts together soon, its sad to hear that due to financial troubles Dizzy Gillespie might not be offered with another SA contract. If Dizzy has to switch over to some other state side then he should go over to Victoria.

Isn't Dizzy orginally from NSW?

Its really important for the Aussies that MacGill does well in the coming 2 years, because that would give some time to the young and inexperienced spinners in the country to groom themselves and be ready to play at the highest level.

P.S: Warney was thinking about setting up a spin academy in England, but aussies would be better served if he opens one in Australia too.

Maybe its first year nerves for casson.I think we may regret letting kregja go he was always a prospect.
Heard a rumour Mick Lewis maybe on his way to WA.

I think any spinner will do well on the WACA pitch these days, its a dust bowl. The problem that Casson has is he plays the role of a 2nd spinner, he hardly gets a bowl and when he does the batsmen are usually set. Looking at the role he plays in the side, i think we are better off playing an extra batsmen all rounder who bowls spin i.e Burke or O'Keefe, especially with no Haddin in the side.

Jason was a talent but i don't think we'll miss him that much, we had too many spinner and it might free up a spot for a batsmen or quick to come over. We really need a bit more depth there, then what we have ATM.

That Lewis rumour has been circulating for the last 3 seasons, tbh.

Exactly, Tharmi. Casson has to do all the donkey work, while MacGill and the pace bowlers will get all the opportunities to crack them open and take quick poles.

Its a joke that Lambert gets a bowl infront of him and at times Thornley. Been poorly used all season, but with MacGill in the side we don't really need a 2nd spinner. Freedman, Robinson, O'Brien, Krejza, Casson and Haurtiz have all been used in that 2nd spinners role behind MacGill over the years and all have been wasted. Better off using an extra batsmen or batting all rounder who bowls spin really. As that was the role Casson and Krejza (last season) played, bowling all rounders.

I think Casson will come into his own hopefully next season, when MacGill away getting smashed by Sri Lanka and India.

Mcdonald vs james hopes for a CA contract question is which one do you prefer,i really don't see hopes being good enough to make the one day side but andrew mcdonald could give symmo and watson a run for the test spot.
Yes fair enough kregja i guess was just really an extra spinner in NSW his chances of fulfilling a spot was hard.Dunno if casson and hauritz are good enough to command a spot as the 2nd spinner, maybe an extra pacemen or moises henriques would be worth a go.
Lambert at 7 and henriques at 8.
