Bird took 9, but with way too many extras IMO. Best non-chucking chucker ever. :D

Basically, he grounded the bat, and it bounced up in the air and was mostly off the ground at the time the bails were removed. Under the circumstances, you couldn't possibly say conclusively that the entire bat was in the air, though most of it was, and certainly not that it was never grounded at any point past the line before it bounced up in the air. The sticker on the bat was past the crease by the time the bails were removed, probably a foot past overall. Should never have been given out.

Bad decisions happen all the time, the vics batting looks suspect to me and and hodge opening isn't working and white at 3 is even worse, hussey just has a weak tecnhique.
On ian harvey is in semi retirement because he can't find a club to play for.
He wants to take up british citizenship and play as a local but no county seems to be interested in signing him up.
Unless he gets an offer i gather ian harvey won't play again,he could always play in new zealand i guess. The states either don't know about this or aren't interested in signing ian harvey up.

Rumour round that he'll sign for Melbourne CC after Christmas.

Anyone know who the 3rd umpire was in the game last night? Wasn't Gerard Abood, was it?

I'll agree the VIC batting looks a bit suspect. In my view, Nick Jewell should open up. Klinger has had some shaky problems; always seems to look alright but never goes on with it. White should bat 4, Hodge 3, maybe give Crosthwaite a go up the order at 5.

Good he has found something i fear tho his first class career is over, don't see the vics picking harvey over the allrounders the vics allready have.
He would have been better of going to tasmania or south australia they short on allrounders there.
The vics problem is their batting and 2nd picking a fit pace attack, heard lewis back tho.

Our bowling has been OK considering at the moment every contracted quick is injured. Ian Harvey won't get a game in front of McDonald or Moss.

Klinger will keep on opening up in OD games.

My OD line-up:

Moss
Klinger
Hodge
White*
Hussey
Quiney / another batsman
McDonald
Crosthwaite+
Harwood
Denton
Lewis

Yes if the vics pacmen are fit, similar problem to tassie last year and they called up brad drew up from NSW,wa had a similar thing and called up ben edmonsen from qld, wouldn't be surprised if the vics did the same thing.
Sad its not spinners getting injured jack altho feel the vics could go with another spinner in the pura side too many dibbly dobbly mediuns for me8-) .

It's sort of through necessity. Moss wasn't going to be playing much, if any, Pura Cup cricket this year, and then the injuries to the quicks happened. Now he's performed pretty well, might make it hard to drop him...

I reckon McKay is doing a very, very good job at the moment. Can swing the bat, aswell.

What happened to Liam Buchanan??

Got injured playing footy before the start of the pre-season. It's in the contracts of the Vic players that you can't play "extreme sports", and footy comes under that definition. Broke his arm, and fell out of favour. There were less contracts to be handed out this year, and he suffered.

I think he might be injured now, but there was mumblings that he wasn't going to bother playing at all. He did play at the start of the season though, I'm pretty sure it's just temporary on the sidelines. Wasn't scoring any runs when he did play, though - tends to go through peaks and troughs.

Big C-Mac is good, bowls a heavy ball. Been playing quite a few years of 2nd XI cricket. Not overly quick, but hits the deck, and the seam. Made a few 50's in district cricket.

Do you think the Denton injury is mainly due to a necessity to overbowl him??

He's been injured since the start of the season. They've tried to "manage" it, but have obviously done that unsuccessfully.

I dunno how he going in grade but he didn't do great last year.
Doesn't seem in victorias' plans ATM maybe should have moved interstate when he put his name in the transfer pool.
