NSW really need to pick up the pace in these last 8 overs. They have plenty of wickets in hand but they need some runs otherwise the SA batting line-up could knock off their total pretty easily.

Adam Griffith a bolter for the first Ashes Test?

Took 48 wickets @ 25 last summer.

Took 45 wickets the summer before.

2/30 & 4/35 in the Pura Cup opener.
I don't think he made the Australia A side this winter so unlikely, also Shaun Tait is back and bowling quite well.

Probably not in the reckoning with Tait and Johnson bowling well and the already established trio of Lee, Clark and McGrath likely to be starting the game in Brisbane. NSW 240/5 after 45 overs. They need some good hitting to get up to 260-270.

Henriques batting really well for NSW, currently on 36 of just 22 balls.

Forget Watson, Australia got a new all rounder for Brisbane, go you good thing, what a shot.

Credit to O'Brien for holding things together at the other end, 291 a very good total. Lets hope Haurtiz dosen't ruin it for us.

Great batting at the end by Henriques and O'Brien lift NSW up to 291 as they score 102 of the last ten overs. Also a good innings by Thornely, picked up the pace when it became vital to do so. How good is Henriques for such a young guy? What a gun, looks set to have a big future ahead of him. First time I've been following a game while he's been playing.

+AC Gilchrist, SR Watson, RT Ponting, DR Martyn, MEK Hussey, MJ Clarke, A Symonds, GB Hogg, B Lee, GD McGrath, MG Johnson

That's the Australian team for the final warm up game for the Champions Trophy. Australia won the toss and elected to field.

It doesn't look good for Katich not playing in either warm up game......

Tassie are 0/22 needing 47 to win outright agains the Bulls.

Big test for Watson, if he can make a 50 here and bowl well, picking up a wicket or two I think that he will be the other opener for Australia's first match of the Champions Trophy. Anything less than 40 runs with his batting would probably give it to Katich, being the one that the selectors have faith in.

That is one powerful batting side with lots of bowling options. It may be one batsman too many. You could probably drop Martyn and put in a bowling all rounder if Watson continues to be successful at the top of the order.

SA 2-172 after 34 chasing 267.

Elliot playing fantastic, and youngster Callum Ferguson also playing well. Hauritz has been the only wicket taker for NSW and has bowled well in his first outing for NSW.

Chris Rogers has just scored his 1st century for WA in the 2006/2007 Pura Cup. Marcus North is 33, and WA is 2-204 just before tea.

Rogers could well be in a position for a Baggy Green in a few years with Hayden & Langer nearing the end of their careers. Rogers has only just turned 29, and should have another 5-6 years left playing, and if he's in good form when Haydos retires, he may well get a chance to play for Australia if There's no younger prospects.

I'd have said that was a perfectly balanced team actually - 1 too many bowlers/allrounders if anything IMO
