Last ODI November 2

First NSW Shield game October 30.

I guess they could have just played him in the first 4/5 ODI's and then shipped him back 3-4 days before the shield game. (Game 5 is Oct 26) Especially as the Ryobi final is on October 27 anyway, so if a team makes the final of that it's never going to be a good gap to prepare for the shield game.

I think it's about a 12 hour flight direct.

They must just want him to have the best shield preparation as possible so he has no excuses for not hitting the start of the Shield in the peak of his powers.

Based on that I'm tipping him to have a prolific start to the season.

Does Ahmed get MOTM despite getting slapped out of the attack early doors?

Him getting it probably won't show a true reflection of it all.

John Wayne Hastings was my man of the match. He took the crucial wickets of Doolan and Cowan, kept it tight with 3-24 from 9 and smashed a useful 23* to finish off the game.

still good bowling though, I only saw the first three but it seemed he beat them all in the flight, pretty tough gig for a leggie bowling at the death as well, did well, but MOTM stretching it.

oh yeah and of the 15 mins i watched i had to cop 5 mins of Ian Healy, almost necked myself, going to be a long and definitely not golden summer of listening to channel 9 commentary

Also weird that they picked him for the one dayers in England originally. As Spikey said I think it's a pitches thing more than a format thing.
