heh, I was riding past that match. Was when I mistook Jack for Tay Zonday.

In my defence, this was my view of the oval.

Looks like a brilliant partnership between Hopes and Hartley today. Phillipson at 3 was never going to work against a good Shield attack.
I'm surprised that the Pattinson's are getting overlooked for Cleary.

Also, any idea why Bollinger is now 13th man for NSW?

SA all out for 55! Faulkner with 5/5 what an effort.

Nice to read B Lee taking 5, he still has a role to play in the World Cup IMO

James Faulkner is averaging under 7 this season. Anyone seen him play?
Yes, mainly in domestic matches where he has been okay but nothing special. He bowls at around 128-132 km/h when I've seen him play. He's capable of being a good all rounder for Tasmania. Noble One mentioned him in this thread the other week, he rates him.

I do rate him. He doesn't look international class, but he should have a very long and productive career for Tasmania. His figures today are incredible, he is very dangerous when the ball is moving as he bowls at the wickets.

Hmmmm, wonder about Moffatt. He's been seemingly been opening the batting for Glenelg for ages, solid accumulator but I dunno about him at Shield level.

As for Faulkner, solid operator at best, got smashed last time he played SA didn't he?

My mother lived in Glenelg for a short period (or near there). And Smith appears to be a **** **** at this stage. So I'm on the bandwagon.

Get him in! Hasn't he been twelfth man a couple of times? Must be close to selection if so.

**** it, why not? There's seriously noone else. The young blokes from the U/17's side which won that Comm Bank champs a few years ago haven't kicked on.

Reckon Cam Borgas is probably next in line if there's a batting spot up for grabs though. He always is for some reason and I reckon they'd rather throw someone in the order up to open with Harris to accommodate recalling Borgas than to pick another bloke.

Moffat's at the top of the run-scorers in grade cricket but his lack of tons is a worry. That said he plays for Glenelg, the deck there veers from road to minefield for no apparent reason so you know he's an all-wicket player!

Yeah Cooper and Klinger have both opened a lot so I'd expect one of them to go up and Borgas to come in. The Marcus North of Shield cricket, without the bowling.

Or the hundreds.

A lot like Ferg too. Was picked verrrry early (17 years old then didn't play another game for almost 5 years haha) because he looks a million bucks at the crease. Gets bogged down very easily if he doesn't feel the ball in the middle early. Bottle him up then throw the wide one. Worth just throwing a wide one early anyway, can't resist it if it's a pressure situation. Terribly nice guy is Cam, bit too nice tbh.

From what I gather Cooper's not a fan of opening and Klinger probably needs to stay at 3 even if he's not in great touch. Possible they'd ask Blizzard to do it and bring Borgas in.

Haha well Cooper opened a fair bit in Sydney gade cricket. He wasn't that good here though so I can see why he wouldn't be a fan of it.

Get the feeling Smith's been retained because noone else wants to open. Some serious manning up required by SACA here. Reckon Manou should so not be batting 6 either.
