Still another shield game to go before the test though, Khawaja and Hughes will be in front of Ponting for the next one.

They're playing the A game instead.

EDIT: Why is it that every time I swap away or go do something else for a moment a wicket falls?

Plus they're picking the side before the A-team game anyway. Which is ******** as it gives Norff and Mussey a chance to play despite doing Sweet FA.

This is pretty awesome, I've got both streams going and both leg spinners are bowling so I'm getting a good view of our potential future leggies. Boyce seems to have quite a different action of the usual leg spinners and he seem to produce a few easier to hit balls. As I type hes got another wicket. The field placing for Smith is about right given the long hop he produces every now and then.

From what have I've heard, Boyce is seen as the best spin prospect by many is Australia and I've also been resonably impressed by whatever little I've seen of him.

McDonald backs up his 100 with a 50, hes really showing up the test contenders so far.
Unlucky for Boyce, should have got another over for mine especially after taking a wicket.

So many fours slashed off outside edges through point/gully.

Bowling well, Hauritz. Beating a form batsman on the cut, which is a good sign.

EDIT:

And just as I say that...

Ryan Harris is a gun. Why is his FC average so ordinary?
Playing the majority of your games in Adelaide doesn't help. And he only just started adding a bit more pace to his movement and L&L, bulked up a bit. Signs were always there though.

Getting worried about Ponting now... There should be hardly any pressure on him in these games and he is still getting out for low scores.
As i said earlier, it's unlikely that Ponting will have a good Ashes.

These are the reasons:

1. likely to be troubled by bouncers (should give up on the pull-shot)
2. age is catching up - reflexes aren't as good (should move down the order)
3. low on confidence due to average form
4. Swann a big threat (should be an interesting battle)
5. his technique is not so good when the balls nipping back or swinging back (although there won't be much swing in the series anyways)
6. Captaincy pressure especially if the team is not doing so well.

However, he is a great player so you never know. He might surprise us.

Woder what it will take for the selectors, CW members etc to give Ronald the respect he deserves

He has scored 4 shield tons in a season and a bit, is currently putting the much lauded Blues to the sword again, has a bowling average under 30 whilst maintaining a miserly economy rate, rarely let Oz down when he did play and has improved considerably since

The guy is so much better than Hopes Hastings etc that it's a joke and the fact that he cant get a look in with any rep teams is nothing short of a farce
