I think Hilf needs some time back at the state level. I think he's got all the ingredients to be a successful test match pace bowler, but he needs to learn how to pick up wickets more regularly.

I'd love to see Copeland have a go. The speed gun really doesn't matter if they can't score off him and he's taking wickets. McGrath wasn't that much faster in his last couple of years and still averaged around 25 for them.

I just love Fleming and Mark Waugh together in the comm box, hilarious stuff. Flem is always giving it to Junior about so many things, over the years Junior has learnt to cop it, funny stuff. Every day Flem brings up the dandruff ad, I think I have it somewhere too, should upload it and send it to them!

Hmm McGrath was never express but he always operated mainly in the 127-135kph bracket, even at the very end. Copeland is routinely 115-120kph, there's a very significant difference at the batsman's end between 130 and 115kph.

I found the bowling effort of Cummins more impressive than Copeland. 41 overs when you are 17 years of age is an incredible effort.

Game is still set very nicely. Butterworth continues his great run of form in Shield finals. Fantastic effort by the rest of the Tasmanian lineup too. NSW truly lacking a 5th bowling option of any variety.

Was discussing this today, does anyone know if Cummins is allowed to bowl more than 20 overs in a day due to NSW cricket age restrictions?

These might sound like dumb questions but does the final last 4 or 5 days? And what happens if the match ends in a draw?

Five days. If the match results in a draw then Tasmania will win.

Provides the advantage to the team which leads the table at the end of the season. Decent system, but does result in 03/04 and 05/06. Both games resulted in wins to Victoria and Queensland, but the non-pressure to force a result allowed the two teams to just keep batting and batting. Bad contests.

I hope that this is Coyte's last Shield match ever.

Awesome day 3 for Tassie, I can't really see them losing this now. I don't think NSW have the bowling attack to take 10 fourth innings wickets quick enough.

We should see some fireworks when NSW come out to bat though, really looking forward to seeing how Warner handles it.

While the commentaors were going on about Cummins, the thought crossed my mind about limits placed on the number of overs allowed by young bowlers. It seem rules don't apply when playing at the top level .( (see Ashes test selection)

But the more important question is why did NSW go into the game with only 4 front line bowlers ? They had to bowl Tassie out twice to win.

Bellerive has been a road in the past and all Tassie have to do is draw, what sort of pitch would you expect it to be ?

They had no choice, NSW only have 2 batting all rounders in Henriques (More bowling but he bats in the top 6 so will class him as batting) and Smith both who aren't available.
