Awesomely excited about QLDs performance here, particularly Hopes, Love and Hartley. Makes for a great birthday present :).

Only a pity there won't be much cricket to go and see tomorrow.

Hopes is a good chance today to take some seriously impressive bowling figures. A 7fer or 8fer will get his name up before the selectors. He could easily take all 10 wickets if Chris Simpson bowls from the other end.

Or NSW could compile 783 runs.

Tasmania an outside chance to achieve the impossible, great bowling be Geeves. Don't see the Tigers pulling this off, this Bellerive wicket appears to be hard going (like all season).

Wade top scoring again for Victoria, plenty of names putting their hand up for back up keeper duties.

Geez, all the allrounders and 'keepers around the country standing up late in the season. Hopes doing the job for QLD, Dan Christian doing it with the ball for SA, Hartley, Manou and Wade doing the job with the bat. Great to see such great cricket going on around the country and so many guys in with a chance of an Ashes tour.

Personally, I'd plump for Manou for the Ashes as the backup 'keeper. Arguably as good as Hartley with the gloves, bats better most of the time (and has been pretty good through the whole season) and I reckon his leadership experience, especially since SA have been doing well of late, will stand him in good stead. Still reckon he's a tool. haha
