We need the extra bowler, and I thought that McDermott fitted the bill well. After all, he's only 37 this year and his retirement was forced through injury, so he could fit that role. How's Geraint Jones these days? Crocked or just carp? Maher is also carrying/getting over an injury so he could slot in nicely at 6.

Yeah, unless he broke something or tore muscles off I'd imagine he'll still bat and probably play on in the next game. He's not bowling anyway, and he's good in the field, but they won't miss him like they'd miss a Symonds or something. Reckon they'd just be taking precautions.

I get the joke, but he's not bad. Quick along the outfield and has a strong arm. Good outfielder, not as good as Lee but better than Johnson imo (although Johnno's arm is stronger)
