I really don't agree with the logic of it at all though. To me, all it does is create artificial results. If your opposition can't get you out quick enough or cheaply enough, they don't deserve outright points. The same goes for if you can't get your opposition out - you don't deserve the points. Outright points shouldn't be something achieved by sporting declarations; they should be a byproduct of a really good performance whereby you outplay the opposition and bowl well enough to dismiss them twice within the given time of the match. Watching your opposition declare 4 down and then perish in the persuit of an artificial target on the last day isn't something I think should be rewarded. The current points system encouraging such is as much to blame as anything.
Stop being so english, Wins/Losses >> Draws

Yeah, the system I played under in the UK included losing/winning draws in one-day games...so you could bat out the day for a draw if you didn't think you could get the runs. Granted, you had to be past a certain mark, but rewarding you with points because you didn't reach the other team's score was ridiculous IMO. If you don't make the target, you lose.

100 for Langer then out in the deep to a very good catch from Blizzard. Was looking forward to this Hussey innings but have to go out now :(

Good to see Griffith finally bagging a couple of wickets. Would like to see him get a Michelle to get his confidence back up.

How old is this McKay bloke? I saw a bit of the game at uni today and I was impressed by his bowling (y).

Blizzard batting pretty well. Still over 5.5 runs an over required and good game on. Victoria should be able to win it though.

Klinger gone. Don't know why he started going for the shots in this over when Blizzard has been doing so well at the other end.

Do you go off CricInfo or do you get somesort of coverage in India? I ask because Xuhaib gets coverage of SA domestic cricket in Pakistan from what he has said.

To get outright points? Cricketing ettiqutte - if you declare short, then you've shown your intent for an outright result. It's then the responsibility of the other side to set up the game in the third innings. If you don't do it, then you're only shooting yourselves in the foot. Other sides won't do the right thing by you in the future.
Exactly. Who says Ponting can't be an attacking captain.
