***Official*** Australian Domestic Season 2007/08

Watson should be nowhere near the Australian touring squad of Pakistan for 2 reasons. 1 he still hasn't had a sustained period of playing and until he does so shouldn't be in consideration and 2 that was pretty much his only performance of the summer.

But if Symonds really was dead-serious about not going to Pakistan then Watson would be at very short odds to take his spot.
I know it should go to Katich on merit but the selectors still seem to view Symonds as an allrounder.

Hilfenhaus & Heal have no chance of going. If Macgill is fit, it'll be a battle between McGain & Cullen for the 2nd spinners position (obviously McGain should be the favourite, but Cullen seems to be the selectors pet).

Katich HAS to be there, regardless of whether Symonds tours or not. And whilst I'd love to see Watto there, Hussey would be hard done by if he didn't get selected if Symonds doesn't go.

Yeah I love Watto and I'll throw a Watto party if he gets picked, but he probably shouldn't. Noffke would be ahead of him as an allrounder while Katich and Hussey would be ahead of him as batsmen. I'd love to see Watto play some solid, consistent FC cricket before getting back in the side - not only to shut up those who keep saying he gets a free ride, but for his own confidence and development.
