oh cool
Because they want to win the game out right and with the two wickets left they need to get the final 8 tomorrow because it will it mean a lot more to win outright then to get it by a draw so they always were going to declare.mr cricket said:queensland should hav kept batting and tried 2 get a record.whats the highest fc score?
They were saying on the radio during Perrin's and Watson's partnership that poor Lachlan Stevens might feel left out with four guys over 150 and he made only 66 (mind you it was a run out that got him so he might have scored more )andyc said:That scorecard is just crazy. Four out of the top 5 scoring over 150
He said that?Craig said:Well this is what Martin Love said on ABC Radio Queensland when Watson and Perrin were batting.
6/900 even Pickup could of got some runs here
Why couldnt he just come in as the specialist batsman (FC average in the mid-40's) whose bowling is a bonus? Australia is currently 'carrying' Symonds in that role. I'd rather it be Watson (more scope for improvement).aussie said:whoa what a batting performance by Queensland & great to see Watson getting a double, unfortunately he didn't get the nod for the SA tests but HOPEFULLY in the future if the selectors want an all-rounder to to come in the top 6 instead of the extra batsman, he should be the man..
Yeah, that definately works for me.howardj said:Why couldnt he just come in as the specialist batsman (FC average in the mid-40's) whose bowling is a bonus? Australia is currently 'carrying' Symonds in that role. I'd rather it be Watson (more scope for improvement).
definately, its seems Ponting & the selectors want the 5th bowling option these days so the idea of 4-bowlers seems to be in the past. Has you said Watson's batting is right up their with the best in domestic cricket while his bowling can improve the more he bowls at international level. Hopefully in the future (ny the ashes would be perfect) that Watson is the man instead of Symonds.howardj said:Why couldnt he just come in as the specialist batsman (FC average in the mid-40's) whose bowling is a bonus? He'll take the place of Mick Lewis or Jason Gillespie on the contracted player list, I reckon.FaaipDeOiad said:Queensland cruise a massive win, on the back of 6/51 for Johnson, and 10 for the match. Certainly marks a huge step forward in his career, and shows that he's more than just potential. Hopefully he continues to develop next season.
hopefully not, he needs to work on his bowling alot (like actually doing something with the ball) before he gets another chance at test cricket.aussie said:whoa what a batting performance by Queensland & great to see Watson getting a double, unfortunately he didn't get the nod for the SA tests but HOPEFULLY in the future if the selectors want an all-rounder to to come in the top 6 instead of the extra batsman, he should be the man..
He's still much better than Symonds at the test level.age_master said:hopefully not, he needs to work on his bowling alot (like actually doing something with the ball) before he gets another chance at test cricket.
