haha hasn’t been thaaaaat bad. Sure he’s tinny af , but at least he cashes inWorst 150 in test history....
Ehh. They didn't make them play at enough and didn't have the discipline to stick to any obvious plan.Windies bowled plenty of wicket-taking balls today.
I presume Hurricane refused to give Marnus the Standing O today.
They have to face South Africa next. As bad as their batting is, they can bowlSo with a summer of runmaking in the offing where will Marnus average be at the end of it? Close to 60 or above it?
Good chance for Smith to get nicely over 60 again too.
We got enough runs against them and your pitches are better for batting. They have to face South Africa next. As bad as their batting is, they can bowl
Does a good informative podcast called Cricket et Cetera with Gideon Haigh. Seems like a 'hot takes' kinda journo, but Haigh keeps him in check nicely and they have a good rapport7. Only listened for a few minutes but he's giving Bhogle level cringe vibes
He's mostly a print journo I think. I didn't know he did much commentary. Which network is he on?

Don't get me wrong, I fully expect we will be bowled out for 200 to 250 on it as it wasn't completely dead. But it definitely was more on the batting friendly side than not. We bowled ok, not as consistent as we are with the dukes ball, but certainly not as badly as 290/2 would indicate. A combination of bad luck, excellent batting and no spin options worthy of the name combined to create this situation. It's been pretty slow. Expect they've pumped a fair bit of water into it to get it to last 5 days. Was a fair bit of seam movement early but they maybe didn't make Khawaja and Marnus play enough after the first 90 minutes or so.
Lol Lara on Marnus' 150 "Wonderful player, rides his luck..."
I don;t think we were that bad tbh. Not as good as we are at home, but not as bad as you are making out. Certainly as a Windies fan I am not cussing them out after a day like that. We didn't give in, energy levels were good, the captain kept attacking fields for the most part, it's just that things didn;t go our way.Ehh. They didn't make them play at enough and didn't have the discipline to stick to any obvious plan.
I think Chase being selected is far worse. I like him, but he's a mediocre off spinner at best bowling on a flat wicket in Aus against Smith, Marnus etcchase as a specialist spinner is one of the WOAT picks and amazingly still not as stupid as jacks/livingstone/random 18 year old b-mac and stokes are looking over.
Agree with this. It really feels like a case of croynism/getting a Bajan into the side by any means neccessary. The fact he got in the side so quickly after 2 years of literally batting like a rabbit and bowling like a part-timer is a smack in the face for all spinners performing well in our domestic and A team system.I think Chase being selected is far worse. I like him, but he's a mediocre off spinner at best bowling on a flat wicket in Aus against Smith, Marnus etc
At least Livingstone/Jacks/Ahmed are unproven at test level, so may bring the element of surprise from a debutant. Chase just looks like he's regressing year upon year
