Smith looking good but also at that stage where he throws his wicket away for the team

Bloke could average 90 if he Chanderpaul'ed it and went for not outs

He would definitely average more if he displayed just an ordinary degree of selfishness.

When was the last time an attack bowled this much 120 km/h stuff in Australia? Bangladesh's tour years ago?

Chase has brought up his hundred off 25 overs. Every time he's come on to bowl he's released whatever pressure might have been built. Really a worthwhile selection.

He's bowled the most overs in the innings too. Insane that they keep bowling him so much, especially with Mayers only bowling 15.

As listless as the Windies bowling attack has been, they were worse on their last tour here where Australia would've been 650 by now.

If nothing else it means they're more likely to take it to days 4/5 this time instead of day 3/4

Well batted, Trav. Won't score many tougher half centuries than that.

TPC getting into slog mode and wanting to throw it away makes me sad. Should be looking at 220 not when the declaration comes an hour after tea.

A bit of a West Indies tradition to overblow their part-time off-spinner in Australia because they haven't had faith in proper spin since Lance Gibbs.

Hooper, Adams, Marlon Samuels, Gayle, Brathwaite and now Chase... Windies Tests on Oz have been littered with them bowling large dollops of overs where it's as today has been.

TPC needs to top score here so Marnus doesn't show up on an abbreviated scorecard in a few years' time and people can rightly forget the blessed filth that was his double hundred.

Bet you'll be hoping he scores runs during the Ashes though.
