Terrific ball though. Tough angle, left arm around.

Loving how quickly they got the ball tracking up there

This is a really good spell

He seems to have reverted to his "old" technique, at least against Jansen
I think he was trying to cover off peg but he seems to have gone back to being more still again as the spell has gone on. Jansen having a terrific match so far

Yeah in all fairness to Smith, a guy that tall bowling left arm around into you and decking it away is close to as difficult as it gets to face

I thought it was a very poor decision not to open with Jansen today, and giving the ball to Nortje was even stupider. Rabada should have come off sooner too.

If it wasnt for a brain-dead run out SA's position would be dire rather than poor.

Nortje was fine wasn’t he? I don’t know that he delivered anything other than what was expected from him tbh. Rabada seemed to take three overs to get into it before he started bowling well, for whatever reason

While the ball's still moving in the air there's no reason to give it to someone who doesn't swing it and bowls generally short with so-so control when you have a better option.

So Warner’s going to race to an aggressive century in his 100th test, do the little jumping fist pump etc

Is there any explanation why, as a society and/or a human race, we would allow this to happen? Surely if this is a functioning democracy we all just agree to cancel the game
Are we going to see Scrappy Doo do his trade-mark leap in his 100th test? Getting closer.
Yup there goes Davey making the leap, nobody will be more delighted than Stuart Broad and the English fans.
