SCG test a complete washout. expect captains to shake on it and abandon the match tomorrow.

Usman is a fan favourite on these threads. Only good things have been said :whistling
Definitely , what's not to like? Attractive stroke player and also a genuine nice guy who sometimes has been hard done by in his career but made no complaints ..
At 36 years old he only has 56 tests to his name , and only 40 ODI matches despite playing international cricket for over a decade so I admire his determination.

The context of that post is that Usman wasn't actually the most popular guy around these parts around 2012-2018 or so, mostly because of poor away performances and being, in that time, truly godawful against offspin.

Developing a complete all-conditions game and in particular mastering the sweep shots has transformed his play in that regard.

I wouldn't say he's got a complete all conditions game until he scores something in England and India. Pakistani pancakes are not the most challenging, but previously he couldn't even score on those.

Letting Khawaja get his 200 shouldn't matter because with two spinners we should be able to get through the overs really quickly and exceed the minimum requirement anyway.

Oh how do I wish that was true.

Where not gonna take 20 wickets in 180 overs here anyway, even against SA's lineup. This pitch is a road and we have Agar, who's barely better than a part timer, lyon, who has a terrible record at the SCG, and a hazlewood who's apparently only at 80% fitness. We've got 2 and a half test bowlers between the 4 being generous on an slow, road that hasn't had enough overs bowled on it to produce significant turn anytime soon.
