Australia should bat first and then declare at 60 just to give them a chance
Oh how I wish Pakistan give a beating to Australia in the third one :baddevil: but ofcourse thats hoping against hope :(

3-0 to Aussies

Afridi is certainly not a test match batsman BUT when Anwar is unavailable, and Imran Nazeer hopelessly out of form, Afridi should be opening along with Umar, coz of his experiance, Sharjah track and he can be useful with his leg spin.

Waqar is a cunning person, he was the one who had asked the selectors for the young team and now after getting thrashed by the Aussies Waqar is blaming the batter's inexperianced for the defeat.I still can't understand why can't Mohd Waseem, Ejaz and Elahi be recalled?

Waqar and Pybus have been targetting Waugh for his poor performance, interestingly Waqar haven't been doing anything with the ball himself lately. What does Waqar has to say about his form?? If Steven is a lame duck captain, then what is Waqar himself??

Pybus & Waqar must have slept in the same bed because that would have to be one of the most dumbest quotes ive seen, particularly when your team is already under pressure form, public & management wise.

Pybus decides to go & publically announce The Waugh Brothers are finished..big mistake & im sure it will come back to haunt him in the 3rd test.

I just hope that the aussie selectors don't drop Waughs for Ashes. Because i think they will certainly do well against England.

Not sure about the bed part and i haven't come across such comments but if its true then well what can i say ? Its very very unfair to say such a thing for a team you have chosen urself. Once you do that you have to learn to stand by your decision.

As for Pybuss statement, not sure wether the Waughs come back strongly or not, but thats just Steves own medicine for himself. He's had a record of putting pressure with clinical precision on players from the opposite side (who were not having a good time out there), its his dues returning. Maybe coming from Pakistani quarters is what surprised you.

Also Tauqeer tried to resign from the PCB chairmanship, the request was declined though. Thats another usual developement...gosh i thought Tauqeer Zia was different !! gotta have the guts to face upto things !!??

Not sure about that, Steven Waugh has been struggling lately. If Akhter and Saqi bowls badly, then Waugh's have a chance otherwise they will fall early.

I do think they are at the end of their of their career, same goes for Waqar!

Quite true.
Which is why we are getting muted response from the Aussies. Again Aussie officials butt in when the Aussies are getting the rough side of a war of words.
They'll get very ****y after winning the last test, and particularly if one of the Waughs makes a ton. But the shots Pybus fired must have hit home, Waugh style.

An old jungle saying comes to mind "If the kitchen is too hot.."

Aussies will also pay the price for being the best team. When Shoiab bowls a great spell, Aussies suddenly become vulnerable to fast bowling!

Why is it dumb? The writing has been on the wall for some time now. I don't say that they aren't capable of some more good innings here and there, but the days of them being a major force in the Australian team and in world cricket are over.

Another thing, do the Aussies have some god-given monopoly over sledging their opponents? Waugh and other senior members of the team have consistently trash talked their opponents in general and the opposing captain in particular. Now that they have been kicked out of the one day team and are growing increasingly vulnerable in tests too, is everyone supposed to go soft on them?

Its dumb, because its the exact kind of motivation a player needs to perform.

Thats the game Steve is so adept at, in the end the victim's psychosis is what does it all. If he's a competitive type, no doubt that will be a challenge he will be willing to accept, but there is another huge factor there, Pressure, Steve has loads of it atm. If he can come good, then I wont say that Pybus lost, but cricket would be the winner their. If he doesn't perform, then well Pybus was just right about the assesment. But, in an overall assesment I think that Pybuss statement was negative, to whom it is directing to makes it appropriate :P

So, when Steve trash talks a rival, it is clever because it will result in mental disintegration or whatever crap that is while if some one else does the same to Steve, it is dumb because it will give him the motivation to perform.:D

You know, it can happen in reverse too and it did to a certain extent in the series against India.

It depends on the psychological makeup of the person who is on the recieving end of the trash-talking.Someone may get flustered and have some added pressure whicle others can stregthen their resolve to prove a point.

When the Aussies do it, they also gamble on the first one and sometime it doesn't happen that way and the odd one boomerangs.

Same goes for Pybus. And to call it dumb isn't smart either.

Pressure; it's a wonderful thing. Some people fold, others will focus. The trick lies in picking who will go one way or the other.

For example, you'd NEVER see any Aussies sledging someone like Lara or Tendulkar purely because they're both clas and will paste you the next time you meet. However, getting stuck into Darryl Cullinan was worth it because even though he was a VERY talented player, he used to falter under pressure a bit.

So whats the harm in it?? Pak gonna lose the third match anyway. The only way Steven can score a ton is if Pak bowls & field poorly and i won't be surpised if that happen because the way their batters are going, it will be impossible for their pacers to get charged up! It will be good if Waugh comes up with a big inning because atleast he won't go berzerk in the dressing room and start breaking things like he did after his dismissal in the second test!

Whatever Pybuss said made perfect sense, Waugh's are now old and they aren't upto the task. The average Age of Aussies is 31+, most of them are getting older and i do think that they are not as strong as they used to be.Even in the present series, Aus batters haven't come up with a good total.
The reason Pybuss was attacked was because he was the coach of Pak team, or should i say Pak B team that had been thrashed in the last match at the hands of Aussies. However Pybuss wasn't talking about Pakistan overtaking Aus, what he said was that England now have a very good chance of matching Aussies.England batting line up seems to be as good( if not better) as the Aus one.The only problem is with their bowlers. Gough is a class bowler but after such a long lay off he won't be able to perform to his optimum level.Jones andd Harmison are raw, while England doesn't have a quality spinners, thats where Aussies will have a upper hand over the Englishmen. However as Sobers said, it will be a close series! Had England got a more penetrative attack, they might have dethrown Aus, but we can expect that to happen in a couple of years

I think the key to the ashes series lies in English batting, and how well they play. If they play well and make big scores, especially early in the series, we might have a close series. It will be foolish to totally write off Eng, as they are a good test side.

When does the third match start between Pak/Aus?

The third test starts on Sat.

England batting is so strong they should do well, it will be a shame if Warne runs run their their batting again, have seen that so many times.
