I liked when Cummins was literally looking at Paine and wondering why he wasn't running

When you all decide to basically go from ball 1 sub 200 scores can happen occasionally, doesn't worry me in the slightest. Aus bowled well up front as well - batted poorly yet again though.

Could really **** you when it matters the most though.

Yes, that is the problem. I could see England getting through to a semi or a final in an ICC event with this style, playing the best cricket of the competition, and then the whole thing goes **** up.

Basically what happened in the Champions Trophy, isn't it? But no team is immune to things like that (see RSA in WC '96 and '99).

Ugh, Eoin Morgan. And the rest of your team is likeable.

What has happened to Smith in ODIs. Painful.

Balance of probability, most 300+ scores by a distance last 2 years. Plodding along in ODI on the off chance you lose wickets in a knockout game in 12 months is daft.

Cameron White in his last 20 ODI innings has averaged 21 at a SR of 64. Trevor Hohns is probably thinking now he was right in what he said about White last summer. Might as well have Head at 3 for Perth if Finch is fit again.

Some stupid captaincy from Morgan at the end with Paine. What kind of a tactic is bowling slow short balls with men back? He's just going to milk it all day. I was screaming at him on my head to just chuck a couple slips in and get them to bowl a good line and length, maybe pitch it up a bit but noooooo, maybe that's too mainstream?

Disappointing because he really impressed me with his field placings and plan with Rashid v Stoinis

That was brilliant. Idiotic stuff from Paine, there was an easy 2 there. Cummo was literally standing mid pitch for a good few seconds just saying "why the **** are't you running???"

Is there a reason why Smith doesn't like to bowl Marsh? He only bowled 5 overs. I'd much rather see him bowl than Stonis and Head.

Despite the win there was absolutely no questions answered for Australia.

Occasionally Hazlewood, Starc and Cummins are going to take a bag and win a game for you. But our batting failed yet again and the worst offender from the past few games was the guy who made the runs this time. We still are no closer to figuring out our full strength side.

Finch
Warner
Head
Smith
Marsh
Stoinis
Paine
Starc
Cummins
Hazlewood
Zampa

Appears to be what the selectors are thinking. Zampa and Paine I don't think should be there. Maxwell needs to slot in somewhere. But with Smith and Warner not in the runs our entire team looks out of sorts.

Viv and Paul Collingwood have done it.

Maxwell to replace Zampa. That batting is too weak. Marsh/Stoinis/Paine at 5-7 looks fragile af. Zampa doesn't do much that you can't get out of Maxwell/Head/Smith anyway, definitely not enough to justify losing a batsman for him.

Paine is not the answer for the World Cup next year. They will want to hope that Carey develops further over the next 12-18 months.

There's no reason for both Marsh and Stonis to be playing. Drop one (Stonis) for a batsman.
