Better than Starc on these wickets right now IMO. Starc is a shadow of 2016

also these wickets- are pure spin dustbowls, best strategy is to pack it with any spinners. Not starc-eh's fault. if its a seam paradise like in SA, Aus or Eng, only 1 spinner is fine(i.e. the reverse) so it makes logical sense.

Cummins and Green - still 2 seam ups, cummins has batting value as well.

England played Stokes as a frontline pacer in 2018 and it worked really well. Curran/Broad bowled a few overs here and there but had minimal impact, as would just about any pacer really. Spamming mediocre spin works way too well in SL though tbf I'm not sure that's worse than Woakes and Mayers being successful bowlers at home.

Nick Kyrgios is like the likeable class clown at school, except if instead of pulling funny pranks and being cheeky with teachers, he took a massive **** in the middle of the classroom. And then scooped it up and smeared a swastika all over the wall. And then tipped over the kid in the wheelchair. And then went into a persecutory rant about people being against him. While manipulating his arsehole into a "talking goatse".

Nothing needs more Nick Kyrgios energy.

While on the subject of tennis(whether you're a fan of Kyrgios or not) wouldn't it be great to see him play Norrie in the final of Wimbledon?
It won't happen, particularly Norrie getting up over Novak, but Nick has caused Rafa some problems in the past.
Ok back to the cricket.... see Maxwell is a good chance to play the 2nd test, no doubt many here will be happy with that.

I don't know about "worse", different is just different. Woakes is a specialist bowler though, him taking poles in certain conditions isn't as extreme as Travis Head doing it

Seam bowling equivalent is Jesse Ryder and Mark Cosgrove taking wickets on County greentops.

Good signs but still very early days for him

It kind of feels like it's still early days but is it?
13 tests for an all rounder is a reasonable source, that 38 could go up or down sharply, but given he hasn't even gone close to the big ones yet,
there's plenty of room for optimism that he could maintain or even likely increase that.
What gets me though is his bowling, stand to be corrected on this stat, but believe he went wicket less for the entire series v India in his first season.
Can remember certain times he bowled really well there, he must be a candidate for unluckiest bowler not to get a wicket in a series.
So just maybe he's a 25-26 av bowler, he's a big boy so his fitness and steering clear of injury will be vital.
More than just good signs for Aussie fans in store here.

He had some decent spells tbf. Had the pink ball hooping around corners in the first test and was extremely unlucky not to have pant out in the 3rd test at Sydney. Induced genuine edges 3 or 4 times in a 2 over period.

From my (admittedly vauge) memory, Green mostly bowled half a length too short in that series, not terrible as he was at least fairly economical, but not particularly threatening either

Green was used terribly in that India series, he didn't just bowl half a length too short, he was banging it in halfway down the pitch 3-4 balls an over. Seemed like he was told he was supposed to be this big enforcer who should intimidate the batsmen with bouncers when that';s not really his game.

He didn't bowl a heck of a lot in that series, but not to get one miserable scalp was unlucky,
Against another nation he may have got 5, but India were in the zone in that series and got the better of him.

Jesus, is Rajitha bowling into the wind or what? In Bangladesh he was hitting 140, bowling with zip and plenty of swing. In his first over here he looks like he's struggling to get it to the other end.
