Yeah my natural state is disdaining Warner because I really don’t enjoy his batting, it embodies a lot of what I loathe about modern batsmanship and to make matters worse he plays for Australia. I’ve found myself becoming a Warner sympathiser just because I don’t understand the generalised personal hatred for him.

Greg Matthews copped a **** ton of abuse from NZ fans back in the mid 80s by all reports. He was a bit of a different character but I'm not sure why he was the subject of it, aside form making some runs against them in the preceding series here which NZ had won.
Especially in the Tests, because they come here so little, they deserve it.

Haha it's the least likely one by far but ironically also the one that's most likely to actually piss him off, he's clearly still got an axe to grind with whatever went on there.

It certainly should have. What also annoys me about it is he has taken the blame for it when it was clearly something others, namely the bowlers, must have been aware of.
Hasn't he changed though? Was listening to his pressy after his last test I think and he said something like sledging and being aggressive to opposition players was something he did in the early stages of his career but no longer think it's good and has its place.
