Hmm, undecided on that. There was nothing to suggest he didn't hit it. The replays are such a blur.

Lucky break for the skip.

Not a fan of the third umpires overturning the decisions based on Batsman's reaction. Happening too often now. Should only overturn if their is concrete proof either way.

Ha, where's the consistency? Don't reckon you can say either way for definite &, based on what we saw in the England tour of SL, where there's uncertainty the initial decision stands.

No hot-spot, no snicko......, so unless we can see air between bat and ball, you can't reverse this. That's how UDRS works, right? So why was this reversed?

Can't understand this.

Getting a bit of a joke tbh, ICC need to pay for these hotspot camera's to be at every Test match. That shouldn't have been overturned, got to back the umpire on that one.

There is none and that's the problem with this element of the DRS

It's really simple: element of doubt = not out rather than reverting to on field call

Yeah, agreed.

Reckon in general though, the umpires are judging too much based on the batsman's reaction after the event, and how much time it has taken to review it etc..... Some players will pick that up soon enough and start acting.....

As I understand it, certain elements of DRS are regarded as military hardware and some countries (i.e. big brother) charge exorbitant customs duty on their import and also delay processing

Not as easy as chucking a few bucks at it

This one though, there was a noise going past the bat, it looked like he could have got a touch on it, so why not back the umpires call, he was in the position, not enough evidence to over turn that one.

Indeed. You would think after what happened to Dilshan and Smith in the NZ series, Clarke's review would be useless.

Indeed!
We've seen Dilshan reviewing a caught and bowled when he clearly hit it last year.

Otoh, I've you're a batsman and given out caught behind and you are 100% sure you didn't nick it, you'ld feel pretty screwed when the decision is not reversed as there is no conclusive evidence....

Hmm, it will be interesting to look up which countries have never had hot spot available since it's been around.
