Definitely the Windies plan to produce under-prepared pitches. I guess they will back their spinners to choke the Ozzies but can they deal with Doherty themselves is what makes it interesting.

Always tough for struggling test nations like the Windies, do you produce proper 'true' wickets to hopefully improve the players games in the country and lose most matches or produce pitches like these and have a greater chance of winning and making the nation and the national players happy!
If you follow WI domestic cricket at all you'd know this isn't true, they just have crap pitches in general with a couple of exceptions. Thats why the batting averages across the board are so poor. Its not really a tactic so much as lazy groundsmen. Certainly helps though, particularly with Narine whose almost unplayable here.

really happy for Pollard given i think he gets a kind of unfair rap from people. He's no Bradman and he hasn't done that well at international standard but he is definitely talented and is still only 24. WI don't have too many really talented players and Pollard is definitely one of those and so should be persevered with.

Surely he should be afforded some room for his inconsistent batting if you take into account his destructiveness when it does come off and the fact that he is a brilliant fielder and decent bowler.

Brilliant win for the guys!!! :D , i knew if our batting stuck around we'd have a very good chance of winning,

Roach- very impressive today just like he was in the last game, took two 4fers in his last domestic game for Barbados before he joined up with the WI squad and people who saw him said he was back to his best, and from the evidence of today it certainly looks that way,

Narine- well what can i say about this lad? just brilliant and from the first moment i saw him as a youngster i felt we had something special on our hands, conditions may have been good for him but you still have to produce, and boy he done that in spades, word is he still hasn't decided whether he wants to go the IPL or play the Tests vs Australia, i pray he picks the latter option,

Pollard- seems to be getting more mature now which is great to see, when he performs the whole team seems to be inspired too so i hope he can carry on this good form he's in,

Charles- stupid run out but batted MUCH better today, well done lad!!!,

The good news doesn't stop at the victory either, word on the street is Gayle has patched up things with the board and could be back in WI colours very soon, i've never been his biggest fan but i can't deny that he would certainly improve us.

In closing it's great to see that we're starting to win games against the better teams now on a regular basis, Pakistan in the Test, England in the t20s, India in an ODI and now Australia in another ODI, all in the last eight months or so, won't bother the record books but it shows that we're at least starting to grow in confidence.

Fair enough. Don't follow it too closely I'm afraid but it certainly will make the series more interesting.

The last two or three times South Africa have been to the Windies, I don't remember the pitches being to bad tbh.

Gayle might come back.

Happy for the West Indies, because although I'm an Australian fan, I'm also a cricket fan....Gayle's comeback will mean that the West Indies are helped big time.

Australia lost last time, maybe I'm pushing for a WI win.

Warner to go after scoring 20 runs.

EDIT Australia can't play on West Indian pitches.

EDIT. Watson out instead. For 10.
