I thought that looked pretty dead live, and hawkeye seems to say it was good. Unlucky Copes there.

Dilshan is a huge candidate to the one that nips back in. Just seem to get a feeling that with a bit of fortune Copes or Siddle would nail him soon. Through that gigantic gate could be a possibility as has already happened in this series.

Copeland has done alright here tbh. Shaun Pollock was 10kph quicker back in 05 when he toured here but he was so ineffectual he had to resort to off-spin. At least Copeland has kept the batsman honest. Done enough to start the 1st in South Africa.

Good effort from Siddle here as well. Got two lefties which seems to be pretty novel for him and he hasn't been bowling the short crap he served up during the Ashes. Pressure on Johnson?

Is that Kumar wicket the first wicket of the game that came about despite the batsman keeping his brain?

And yeah int. re Copeland's last LBW shout. No way I would have given it but

Why would you bring Johnson on?

When there are four seamers better than him in the playing eleven? :@ :@

Yes, take a wicket and prove me wrong, ****er!

Have been very impressed with Matthews' batting in this series. Upright player who seems to relish pace on the ball coming onto him. Love seeing him drive and the general confidence that he seems to emit through his game.

And he ain't a ball thrasher like the man at the other end; the lad's actually a batsman.

Perverse waste of the new ball giving it to Johnson. Their best chance lies in nipping out two or three while the seam is still proud. Perhaps, the plan is that Copes and Siddle would start proceedings on the other side of lunch.
