Why should batmen take the fielders word when it comes to catches? do we expect bowlers to take batsmen's word when it comes to nicks

Of course. Their record there is imposing, though. Not just wins, huge wins. Against top opposition and driven more by the batsmen than Murali.

Weaker bowling they have, yes, but the Aussie bats haven't been dominating so you'd expect no matter what they score, the SL bats will go past it. Get the feeling that Jaya and Sangakkara are hitting the ball better than they've shown too, their form building nicely.

Bad feeling about the next Test.

SL being a small country, I can only assume this weather is not limited to the region of this venue.

If that's the case, there would have to be a fair chance of rain for the thrid test too, wouldn't there?

That depends on whether this is a monsoon system or not. If it is, then the 3rd test will be heavily hampered by rain. otherwise, it should be ok
