The thing that makes me laugh about Kuhnemann is that he gets absolutely no advantage from “chucking”

Guy bowls darts so it’s not like a Murali or Charlie Griffith who both benefited massively from their actions
You definitely get an advantage from chucking as a finger spinner, regardless of your style of bowling. You can put more revs, and bowl with more pace with greater accuracy

So you could literally debut a professional baseballer and nothing would happen until after the game?

I don't think that's right. They can still call it if they want, they're just told not to unless it's deliberate.
So there must be a line where they can be called in game. If so, surely Ajmal when he was going like 45 degrees must have been close

Hashim Amla having a trundle must have got real close. I reckon they might have only pulled back because they were unsure if he was actually able to bowl a legal delivery and they didn't want the over to go forever.

Yeah it could be just strong advice and not a rule.

Shikhar Dhawan was called and never allowed to bowl again, IIRC.

I didn't realise you get more spin from chucking. I was aware you can get a bit more speed, but how much more? So why do we allow for hyperextension? Isn't it still 'chucking' as far as creating an unfair advantage on what you can do with the ball?

If Kuhnemann is able to get more revs on the ball then why doesn’t he?

You can get much more spin by chucking it

*ahem*

And this is coming from someone who hates filthy finger spinners and thinks that Bumrah is legal
