Can't say I'm surprised at all that Cummins is playing, every player interviewed for the past month all but confirmed it. It's an attacking move, I like it.

Agree with the call not to play Copeland too. Don't think he bowls the right line to trouble the Saffers.

This guy has played even fewer matches than Beer had when he was on debut?

I didn't actually see any of the last series as it wasn't on TV here. Did Copeland not really look that good?

Why is Lyon playing?

No-one knows whether he is a half-decent fc bowler let alone an auto pick for the test team

Are you kidding me? The only good component of the Oz attack is injured and now they are going in with Cummins, Siddle, Johnson and Lyon. This has got to be some cruel practical joke being played on fans from Down Under!

On the positive side, Watson could get his first ten-fer in a test. Sad thing for Australia is that they could still be smashed in the game!

Haha, your reasons not to choose Copes change with every Test he proves you wrong.

But I guess we'll never know. :(

Eh? I didn't rate him before being picked and he's barely done a thing after inducing idiot TilDil to loft one to cover.

Disagree. Copes bowls at the stumps when you set a good field for him. 7 of the 10 SA first innings wickets to fall were either bowled or LBW.

So Johnson stays in because the selectors are worried about the tail despite the fact he has done naff all with the bat for nearly 2 years. If they need a number 8 why not go with O'Keefe?

Give you an attack/tail of

O'Keefe
Copeland
Harris (when fit)
Cummins

Might not work and a bit harsh on Lyon but surely better than sticking with Johnson and Siddle who are too hit and miss.

Yes I know O'Keefe isn't on the tour, just a general point going forward.

From what I've seen his default line is more of an outside off-stump nibbling a bit each way. If he did bowl that way, agree completely, but I don't think he does. Maybe haven't seen as much of him as you have.

Or better still, Hauritz (not fit but same point)
