Sometimes pitches do stuff, that's why it's called test cricket & not playplaypreschool cricket. It's when those things called technique & discpline come into play.

It's why bowlers celebrate getting guys like Kallis & Ponting out waaaay more than guys like Pollard & Yusuf Pathan.

How many overs all up were bowled in that session? 12 wickets and an innings change. Fmd.

Imagine if we had bowlers who bowled 99% of their deliveries exactly where they wanted.

Imagine if we had batsmen who hit the middle of the bat with 99% of their shots.

It's an entirely unrealistic expectation.
Yeah mate, playing cricket at test level is way easier than umpiring, good post buddy

I don't think you can blame the deck too much, really. So many dismissals came because of shoddy footwork to a ball that did a little bit but was otherwise pretty straight. That's basic Test match batting technique fail there.
There has been, what, 16 wickets taken today. I think it's a bit more than that.

It seems the madness looks set to continue. That was poor from Hussey, a man that should know a lot, lot better.

"Performance statistics over the last 12 months show that the Emirates Elite
Panel of ICC umpires are operating at a correct decision rate around 92%,
which compares to 94% in Major League Baseball."

Reckon there's been more than 8% of decisions being incorrect today.

BUT IT'S NOT THE UMPIRES FAULT!
I am not sure how ICC compiles those stats but
.....................

In any case best leave this discussion from here as will have to broad base it too much for this thread.

In 20 minutes (not including tea) SA will have gone from utterly demoralised to believing they're a real chance in this match.
