Not that suprising tbh, the guy is far too slight and consequently injury prone, he needs to put some serious time in at the gym.

Genuinely believe Australia will win this series just for the record. Assuming we play North, the only other thing I'd change about the team is having Bracken in there.

Can't wait.

The last time these two sides played, Australia won. It came with our new talent in no small coincidence.

Now we have North in (I assume) and Hughes which imo, only makes us stronger.

Siddle, Johnson, Bollinger, North, McDonald/Hilfenhaus is a very good bowling attack for South Africa.

I would be very surprised if we win .I'm expecting to lose and to lose big,I will be ecstatic if we draw it.

Quite lookin forward for this series more so than the current India v NZ series that's going on. On another matter refferel systm will be a huge thing too, first time ever most of the Australian fans would witness such a thing.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how it's handled. Can see some blow ups if there are decisions like some in the WI-England recent test. That was horrid.

Rain predicted for every day of the match. :(
Weather forecast is now pretty decent for the test. It was two days ago 75% chance of rain on a good day out of the 5 but it is now down to 40%.

Something like 90,000 tickets have already been sold for the 5 days which is great but my 200 quid bet looks dead as a dodo.

Punter said the wicket looked “tacky” as of yesterday but Hussey said it looks to be a better batting wicket then what was served up the last time the two sides played at the Wanderers. Should be a good workout for the batsman either way.

What history does he have with injuries? Fitness yes but his played a lot of cricket in the past few years uninterrupted and this injury was just caused through a mere slip in the outfield, not one induced by bowling.

It is a blow though for Nel has gone Kolpak and Cackdeki is unsurprisingly injured, so not much in the way of experience for the South Africans to fall back on if one of their frontline seamers goes down or missing.

Yeah we certainly can if everything comes together. This SA team are very good but they're not unbeatable by any stretch of the imagination. However, I don't think we will win as they are the better side and better sides usually win. Can't wait for tonight though.

I disagree. I know South Africa were good in Australia, but a large amount of their bowling was quite ordinary. With Hughes and North in and the law of averages on our side, I don't see our batting failing to make good scores. And I've made my thoughts on our bowling clear.

In my mind, it's Australia 55-45.

Our batting hasn't been in-sync for a while now though. Not so sure they'll suddenly all start performing well again in this series.

I agree tbh, not buying into the negativity being displayed in the media and by alot of fans atm.

Yes this is a very inexperienced side in the midst of a rebuilding phase, however I still believe it's a pretty good one.
Yes they just beat us at home, however Australia were in positions of dominance at stages of both test matches which they eventually lost, had they been able to better take advantage of the big moments (ie days 4/5 in Perth and 3rd morning in Melbourne, both with the ball) they could quite concievably have won the series 3-0.

South Africa all things considered have a better side in my opinion and on their home patch in conditions which suit their attack they should win, however the gap between these sides is very, very small in my view and the Australians are certainly capable of winning this series.

Bollinger named 12th man.

That means Big Mac is playing with 3 specialists bowlers.

I hope we get thrashed.
