SA makes 317 which is going to be a test for the Aussies if they want to win the series. It could have been worse but will still be tough even if the pitch is flat.

We should be opening with Hopes and Haddin, and pushing Clarke down to 6, Mike Hussey to 7, Ferguson to 4 leaving Ponting at 3 and Dave Hussey at 5.

I don't see us getting anywhere near the total if Clarke wastes balls like he usually does.

massive task here, need a couple big partnerships to set up the chase, on form not quite sure we can do it.

Only watched the first five overs of the South African innings and 300 was a pipe dream, as the ball was seaming about. So Australia either bowled awfully from that point on, South Africa played a blinder or the wicket flattened out considerably.

Mickey Arthur has said that Gibbs is a 1 in 5 man, so going by that he won’t score a run in Jo’Burg.

Even if Clarke could strike at a run a ball we'd be right on top.

Sadly this is a dream that will never eventuate.

Ouch, was looking good for a ton there. Still, quality innings from Haddin. Really need that Ponting special now.
