if they actually were serious about 'spin pitch specialists' and 'pace pitch specalists' then I could understand taking someone other than Uzi... but I dunno if they'd stick to their guns and pick Uzi again if his replacement played really well. just doesnt seem like a real thing a test team would actually do

He could get better. IIRC guys like Ponting and Martyn were rubbish until their 3rd/4th tours of Asia

Conditions looking pretty easy for batting to be fair.. South Africa need to tie down these two and wait for the mistake, only Abbott has looked threatening so far.
