Adelaide under lights was very seam friendly last year. If it's like that again you won't need much from your spinner.

Richie Benaud used to say how much he liked bowling in Perth because of the breeze and the bounce, but I think that had more to do with the fact WA were generally pretty **** when he played. It's nothing like it used to be in its heyday but there's probably a bit more in it than there was mid-late 2000s.

Hobart, who knows? Used to be a road all the time then in the last little while blokes seem to jag it around everywhere.

Hi guys. New member to the forum and avid Protea fan here. I was just wondering who everyone feels has the best chance of being South Africa's LO all rounder at the moment? I know Andile has been impressive but is there any chance of Morris leap frogging Parnell, Pretorious and Phehlukwayo when he is fit? Of the four I feel he has the best batting technique.

I think Morris is a top death bowler, and considering death bowlers can be called on right from ball one these days he's definitely an asset over the guys you mentioned.

Welcome... need all the saffers we can get here...

Morris has been impressive, but it will depend what you want from the players. I think Parnell has probably a better batting technique but not quite as good ability to clear the boundary. He also gives SA variety to the attack. If Parnell stays in good form I can see him as first choice, but I would not mind us playing both Morris and Parnell. Don`t think Pretorious will be first choice option. Andile has a great deal of potential, he is still young and if we can get an extra yard of pace out of him would be excellent long term prospect.

Definitely agree with you on Parnell and Andile. From what I've seen of Parnell he always looks a better player when he isn't trying to smash it. Morris on the other hand has the power game the benefit of looking relatively compact while going big. I've watched Parnell from his debut ODI and I still hold some hope that he will become the player we all hoped he would. When he gets it together he looks amazing, unfortunately that's not very often.

Parnell had an excellent season at the Cobras and appears to have brought it forward to the LO stuff... long may it continue.

With Rabada, Abbott and Steyn in the team will be interesting to see who gets the new ball.... so want Amla to score a century today.

Another Saffer here, with about 10 posts to my name... More of a lurker to be honest.

Re the all-rounder chat above - Morris at the moment is the best of the 4 you mentioned. Parnell I fear is a bit like South Africa's James Franklin, ultimately not quite good enough. Hamstrung by the fact he is not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Andile we'll see a lot more of, and while I like Pretorius, not sure if he adds anything the others don't.

Also, sure Abbott/Rabada gets the new ball?

Not sure why Head is bowling now. He doesn't look much better than Finch with the ball, and Zampa has got both of these batsman out before.

South Africa's tail is fairly long today, so these two need to box clever. And as I type Rossouw nearly holes out against Zampa.

Roussow can hit a cricket ball. He agree with Tt boy, need to be there for the next 10-15 overs
