Nice comeback for Klaasen. Seems to go into a purple patch at the backend of a season.

Good little partnership from these two. Both know boundaries will be hard to come by but running very well. Still need that one big over though.

Played. Got stuck a few times and had some fortune but he has taken the game deep and given South Africa a very good chance on not the easiest wicket.

Saf suddenly look a pretty decent loi team. I'm impressed with this kid malan and ngidi looks back to his best after the fitness camp too.

Things are looking up. A way to go and more talent to see but a lot to be pleased with in these last 2 matches. Particularly how the batting has put the 2 innings together with a 100 in each innings being the basis.

Once again, difference in the sides shows in how we lost, none of the 3 batsmen who got starts managed to take it big, while the saffas did.

Well done South Africa. I see that they've won 10 out of their last 11 ODIs vs Australia!

On paper NZ should beat Australia in our upcoming ODI series (our best format & their worst) but they'll probably thrash us again.

Aus vs NZ is a good match up. The team favoured on paper often loses (except in world cups).

Does anyone else get a twinge of satisfaction when the team batting first loses their last wicket on the last ball of the innings, irrespective of who you support?

To me, its the surest sign possible that the batting team has maximised the available balls in relation to wickets in hand- if a team ends on 350/4, I always feel like they could have potentially have gone harder. All out on the last ball means they pushed both their wickets in hand and balls in hand as far as they could go.

I shouldnt care about the overall records of bats, but I do. A bat who is willing to sacrifice his wicket on the last ball is far more valuable than one who pulls a Chanders/Kallis, but it still relects badly in his stats. But last wicket/ball is typically tailenders, whose batting records dont bother me.

And I like rewarding bowlers who have actually managed to tear through an entire lineup in a batting dominated era. Anyone thrown to the wolves by being designated a death bowler needs all the statistical help they can get

Laboo-shane returns to his original home.

Nortje and Dupavillon to share the new ball like they did for SA Schools ?
