It's obscene how easy he makes it look at times. When he hit that first four with the most harmonious of body movements you just knew he wasn't going to get out cheap.

I think this one is the best inning of the lot. The match could have been done there itself if he got out cheaply and perhaps the series too.

I presumed when I read about it they were playing stuff to deliberately antagonise, like the clown theme after a bad decision etc...

Instruments at football don't work, I think they do at cricket with the amount of time nothing happens as long as the person playing the instrument is killed like Billy the Trumpeter or the band in SA.

I haven't watched any of this test match so no idea what they're like. But it is groups like this that bring crowds to test cricket..........do you really think that 12,000 English would come to Australia just to watch us get thumped tour after tour? No they come because of the BArmy Army and the atmosphere, and win lose or draw they have a great time and the grounds are full.

It is absolutely insane to try and stop a band like this and Billy the Trumpet and all the other groups around the world that make a day at the cricket more fun and exciting. Such short sighted ****wittery it is beyond belief.

If IPL weren't around, how good of a test player ABDV would have been? Reckon he could potentially be their greatest batsman ever.

I've always considered De Villers a very good player, but I've given him stick in the past about his commitment to red ball cricket. Reckon I need to eat a bit of humble pie - the guy clearly loves Tests and is a great player. He looks a level above everyone this Test - even Smith. He's the only bloke who has timed it consistently on a bit of a pig of a pitch.

I think the surface is great, mind you. Lets good players score runs if they commit, and exposes poor techniques for quality bowlers. Would like a bit more pace in it but overall a really great Test brewing because of the surface and quality of player on show.

Yeah I think I'm guilty of underating ABDV in tests and then he plays an innings like this (and he has had plenty) and you realise again just how bloody good he is.

If the others hang around long enough to let AB to get to his 100, they should get a 50+ lead which would be handy enough.
