All in all this Test reminded me of that recent match up between Aus and India in India when the cricket was very tough and grating. I think the 2nd Test when Kohli got the crowd going.

The only difference in this game is that it was played in front of 25 people compared to that India game. Very tough cricket ..almost unmissable viewing for mine.

If this sort of thing gets Davey heated up, he better not join the NSW branch of the ALP. FMD the blues they have in that branch are legendary.
Does the ACA count as a union for the purposes of joining the ALP?

Anyway he'll come in, clean house and return the ALP to the glory days of Hawke - Keating

And I just remembered that when the Stokes incident occurred a few months back that Warner wasn't reluctant to give his views on how bad the incident was:

And Warner says Stokes’ incident is much worse, suggesting an extended ban is the very least he could receive.

“I did do my time. It was a lot less than what we’ve seen on that footage, that’s for sure,” he said.

“It’s up to them [England] what they want to do - how they punish him and first of all it’s up to the police. Obviously with their investigation findings, to see what happens there.
Even Candice Warner was giving her view on it:

"I know the Australian players would love to have him out here because they want to play against the best, but I don't think he can come, I really don't. That footage is disgusting, it is really, really bad," she said on Channel Nine's Sports Sunday show.
"Even if he's not charged, David wasn't charged when he hit Joe Root, he was banned for two games.
"Why wouldn't Ben Stokes get reprimanded? This is a lot worse, this is way worse."
This is one of the reasons Warner's behaviour really surprised me. It seemed more or less he'd left his pre-2013 behaviour behind (and he felt confident it was the case) and was relishing the responsibility of being a leader of the side in more ways than one.

Yea up until yesterday I can't seem to recall him being this bad on the field in recent games..he looked like he'd bee triggered from the time Aus came out to bowl.

I see a Steve Waugh-Dave Warner dream team leading the ALP back to the halcyon days. Imagine the press gallery hacks trying to bowl to those blokes at the annual MPs vs Journos match.

Apparently someone had a crack at him when he got out in the second dig, but I mean that was a day earlier ffs.

As for comparisons with Stokes, look Ben did actually KO a fella. I don't think there's any comparison to be had there. Both can be flogs in their own right.

Yeah, but this occurred on the cricket ground and judging by the footage if he hadn't been restrained by his teammates it could've potentially turned into something physical. Because of where it occurred and whom with it's certainly more cricket-related

The thing that this and the Stokes incident is the visual evidence changes the perception of it so much. If there had never been footage of the Stokes incident I reckon ECB probably would've let Stokes play in the Ashes and the incident would've been PR'd into how Stokes was totally engaging in self-defence. But the footage of him punching that person when he was already incapacitated doomed his Ashes chances.

Similarly here, if reported verbally it would've been probably brushed off as Warner being a bit of a hothead; but the visuals of him having to repeatedly be restrained and seemingly wanting a confrontation with QDK looks awful.

I see what you're saying now. Cheers.

In any event, it's spiced up the series. Great stuff. Should see a crowd of about 1,500 flock in for the next game on the back of all this.

This certainly isn't good, but nowhere near the in the same league as Ben Stokes that night. Anyone who believes Stokes was acting in self defence is utterly deluded.

It still amazes me that George Dobell was still arguing the self-defence line even after the footage was released.

It's definitely a sign of Warner not being able to control himself. It's disappointing to see because it means he can be baited so easily and come across as the bad guy when he's responding to someone more subtle and in control of their emotions.

He's like the Adders of the Australian cricket team

Parliament needs a few good sledgers. Maybe Tubbs and Cowan can run on the Liberal ticket at the same time.

Hey xxxx, better ring your wife and check the buffalo hasn’t taken your home yet?
Dunno about the team mix, but they sure met the quota for guys who can’t hit the ball.

The only thing it's safe to say about this cctv incident is that it's pretty obvious De Kock must have said something totally out of line to set off Warner. I hear he made a racist comment about Amla and Warner was defending Hash. Sounds legit.

Perhaps De Kock was just providing a helpful literary critique of the plot development in The Kaboom Kid #1: The Big Switch, causing little Davey Warner to get mad and threaten to wrap his OLED around de Kock's head. That's how I interpret it anyway.
