I see that Lyon got his customary tailend wicket. Been garbage this series. They should've thrown him under the bus instead of Smith/Warner imo. He has a history of cheating anyways.

What would have happened if Lyon didn’t drop the ball on AB?

Hopefully the end of Handscomb
How do you get his average below 40 first ?

Another duck in the 2nd dig drops it to 42.36

When you look at Australia having to drop Burns and Renshaw with averages of 38 and 37 something doesn't seem right.

There is a weird trend here.

What do Australia do moving forward with their batting.
IMO, they should stop getting out for low scores.
Maybe they can pull a rabbit out of the hat instead of using these poor bunnies.

It's going to be a long slow grind to rebuild the batting side. The structural problems in Australian cricket have been there for years and remain unsolved. Two chief problems are a domestic season where the State cricketers virtually never play against their super-hardened Test compatriots...and the evil of the batting-friendly drop-in pitches.

Prime example was Phil Hughes moving to South Australia to improve his batting average and force his way back into the Australian side...All he was doing was moving to an even flatter pitch than the rest of them have become...Odd choice based on an odd mentality pervading the Aussie cricketing scene this last 10 years or more. This was never going to improve his batting skills.

Anyone wondered where Kepler Wessels is for this test?

No jokes he is on SABC 3 Live for the Extreme Cage Fighting Championships.

Strange how Aussie bowlers have been unable to reverse swing these past two days. It seems that these skills have left the team somehow...

culturally they still haven't moved on from having 7 blokes averaging 50 or roundabouts. they can't handle having to work with decent players, which is why every home season these guys are massively overrated and every away series there are calls for their heads after a couple of low scores.

it's a mentality present even on cw in some quarters.
