I don't think Smith & Labuschagne can both feature in same Xl in modern ODIs.

Next WC is on Indian roads. I think Head is a better bet at 4 for Australia.

I'de give stoinis the series but frankly don't think he should be anywhere near the odi team. He's been great for us in t20I's from the middle order but he's still got the same issues he had in ODI's years ago. Marsh is our first choice #5 anyway but green should be above him in the pecking order.

International Captain
Finch is the Mike Brearly type captain Australia need after to many scandals. He dont contribute a lot with bat but he a decent catcher

Green's cieling is way higher then stoinis and he's 10 years younger. Don't see the point in backing someone who can't rotate the strike vs spin during a WC in india.

And Green can give a solid 6-8 overs every game. Should play every game ahead of Stoinis.

Mitch Marsh, Green and Agar give a great balance from 5-8 incl Carey.

Nah maxwell starts over green, his bowling is nice but maxwell is a far better LOI finisher and the extra spin option he offers+gun fielding will be huge in indian conditions.

Yeah agreed with Maxi over Green. Maxi then Green then Stoinis should be the pecking order. Smith at 3 and Head or Labu at 4.

just looked at the card and **** me this is like an Australia Z team
Not sure if Carey, Head, Finch, Green. Stoinis or Zampa are z list players :whistling
Most of them are first choice for limited overs cricket actually.

Unfortunately Starc, Cummins etc will be out due to injury/rest/rotation.

Feels like 313 is an ok total on such a straight forward pitch. Zaman and Imam just need to go at 5s during the pp and build on that throughout the next few overs.

Whatever it takes!!!
This Zahid bloke looks like he should be dropping his kids off at their cricket games as opposed to playing himself. Pakistan debuting oldies is bizarro land stuff
I remember Arshad Khan debuted (or came back) and I was so surprised coz before that I had not seen anyone debut for Pak in their 20s, forget 30s.

Dumb shot but he had the right idea. Babar and Imam. Time for the chase to die.
Nah, both guys, especially Babar can accelerate when needed. His career sr of 90 is pretty damn good compared to other top order batsmen with the added bonus of a top top top average. There are decent hitters in the lower order too, so there's a lot of time and skill left in the game.
