Personally I like having an outright winner and loser. When you play so few overs, what's the problem with one more to decide it?
It solves the knockout situation in tournaments and what's the argument to limiting it to those events?
The super over is fun to watch as well.
Much better than a bowl-out, or a countback on the number of 6's in each team's innings.

this is not a 20 20 match im referring to but back in 81 australia werent keen on a tie either and bowled an under arm delivery to deprive NZ the chance of frist tieing the match and second pushing the final to a 3rd game.

Although bearing this thread in mind, the Murali run-out doesn't come close the underarm incident.
It's also off topic as it wasn't the point of difference for a tie between the two teams.
Perhaps you would like to pick a different channel to discuss who has the cheatingest history out of NZ and Aus in cricket?

sorry all i wasnt trying to re-hash the whole underarm incident, i was just trying to point out the extreme tactics a team would take to even aviod a tie let alone entertain the thought of having one.
so in essence we could say a tie is fine but if a tie occurs then we must have another game if we don't want to decide a winner over a super over..

Surely Warner will open with Watson in the ODI's now. If so & from an NZ perspective, Warner worries me a lot more than Marsh. From the little I've seen of him, Marsh struggles a tad with his strike-rate doesn't he ?

Me too, perhaps I just haven't seen the best of him, but I'd guess he'd struggle for a strike-rate on NZ's slower tracks
