I think the crap around Williamson is just that, crap. He's having a bad series due to great bowling plans against him and not being in his peak form but the more I see of both Southee and Boult at the moment, I'm really worried we've seen their peak. It's just not happening at all for either of them anymore. Boult looks like he's lost his shape with the ball on top of bowling along the deck rather than into it. Southee looks like he's back to the guy who can bowl miracle balls, but pushes too many onto the pads and gets worked. How much longer do you select both of them as spearheads?

THink Southee was good, but not great in Australia. Boult was obviously crap.

They both need a kick up the backside and a dropping might actually do that tbh.

As long as it's not for Bracewell.

just before boult got warner i thought to myself that the pair are bowling for their next summer because both my head and my jerky knee won't be able to handle another summer of filth while henry and nuttall aka the mini me's of southee and boult provide such ***y highlights reels.

I really don't see how you continue selecting Bracewell; he can't even buy wickets at domestic cricket for less than mid thirties. It's like Craig Spearman "But the guy looks much better than he actually is". Southee came back way better after being dropped and I honestly think for both of them its probably at the stage that one or the other has to take a seat; maybe by dropping one of them you're putting the other on notice that reputation only goes so far.

Southee for the most part doesn't look like anything is going wrong mechanically, it's his game plan, too many miracle balls pushing on the pads and letting the batsman remove all pressure. Boult looks like something is mechanically broken, down on pace, scrambled seam rather than beautifully held like it used to be and the radar seems off too.

How do you see Henry as a mini-me of either Southee or Boult? I see him more like Dion Nash or Chris Cairns, a little bit of swing but ultimately hits the deck hard from a good height with good pace.

I used to work with Nuttall's older sister; never met the guy but hear he's got a great training attitude and work ethic.

And the work ethic is critical. It's why I feel confident that Williamson will overcome any technical hurdle that's placed in front of him, injuries permitting.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Put it down to what you will - not 100% because of injury, undercooked, too much LO cricket - Boult & Southee have looked off for a while, but I don't think their best is behind them. They're not averaging <30 this summer but they're starting to get some sort of rhythm in their spells (well moreso Southee). Bowling records | Test matches | Cricinfo Statsguru | ESPN Cricinfo

I hope they are managed properly before the tour to SA.

That again shows how unlucky Wagner has been not to have played every match instead of Bracewell.

You take a look at Australia and how quick they are to leave out Siddle if he's not bowling at his best, and their policy with Clark and Gillespie the moment they came off the boil. We don't have the luxury of depth in our bowling unit but I don't know how much longer you tolerate someone averaging high thirties as your strike weapon before you bench him a few games.

His cut shots, cover drives and straight drives are so masterful that it's really lost when the things you remember are his charging slashes and baseball style shots over long on.

Also,    at Smith's reactions. It reminds me of Ponting not being able to hide his emotions.

Wish someone would compile a highlight of Steve Smith's reactions every time the ball sailed over the slips or went for six.
