Can't the match-referee ban the captain of the fielding side if he finds the over-rates unsatisfactory, or do they fine them??Who cares tbh? Pick the side that'll win you the match.
They usually fine, but if it is really bad, then he gets a ban. Can't the match-referee ban the captain of the fielding side if he finds the over-rates unsatisfactory, or do they fine them??
They get warned first, pretty sure Nicholas or someone asked Broad and he said it wasn't an issueCan't the match-referee ban the captain of the fielding side if he finds the over-rates unsatisfactory, or do they fine them??
What do over rates have to do with winning?Bowling at 12 overs an hour, even with that side, hard to see Australia winning. .
Ponting seems to be worried about it - so much so Lee didn't get a gig bowling in the morning on the 4th day of the Mohali test. They get warned first, pretty sure Nicholas or someone asked Broad and he said it wasn't an issue
Yeah and its not surprising that the only innings in which Clarke didn't bowl was in which he scored a few runs, i think from the very begging it was a poor move to expect the part-time spinners to fulfill the spinning duties, its a ploy that isn't going to work against the Indian batsmen, now since they have White in their as the spinner they need to start giving some respect to him, and use him similar way they would have used any other conventional or better spinner in.And that's aside from how bowling that many overs will affect their batting. I know Clarke in particular can bowl a bit but if one of the reasons why he hasn't kicked-off in this series is because of the overs he's bowled, Ponting needs to stop bowling him. Now.
Spot on. Stop obsessing about reverse swing if you can't bowl straight and on a good length 90% of the time.As I've said before, it'd be nice if the Aussies bowled straight before worrying about getting the ball off the straight. Reverse swing, etc., entirely useless when you're bouncing the ball in your half or bowling short and wide as the Aussies have done a lot of.
Don't really tell me you actually believe in that ****....Ponting seems to be worried about it - so much so Lee didn't get a gig bowling in the morning on the 4th day of the Mohali test.
When the question was put forward to Lee regarding the Ponting-Lee spat, he said it was a case of over rates and a bit of miscommunication. But if you have a more accurate explanation of what happened - please do tellDon't really tell me you actually believe in that ****....
Neilsen indicated that there was actually much more than just the overrate to that spat. When the question was put forward to Lee regarding the Ponting-Lee spat, he said it was a case of over rates and a bit of miscommunication. I must've missed this. What were the exact words that implied this?Neilsen indicated that there was actually much more than just the overrate to that spat.

http://content-gulf.cricinfo.com/indvaus2008/content/current/story/375052.htmlThe on-field dispute between Brett Lee and Ricky Ponting has taken a twist with the coach Tim Nielsen saying a poor over-rate was not the main reason the strike bowler was not used in the first session of the fourth day in Mohali.
Neilsen indicated that there was actually much more than just the overrate to that spat.
But that's not the exact quote though. The headline there makes it sound like he said something sinister whereas all it was is:Coach complicates Lee-Ponting spat
