Interesting. What was awesome about the first session? (i presume the awesome one came first..)
Got me into a more side-on position, and while it still took a lot of work after the session with him, I started to get quite a bit more turn and work on the ball.

Second session seemed to focus on little semantics, and didn't relate all that well to fingerspinning, IMO.

The only thing that worries me is the weather there. If I am not wrong, the average temperature is around the 20s, which means that the chance of wickets cracking up during the course of the test match is minimal. It could well end up like a English pitch, aiding swing as well as bit of turn on the last few days.

Expect Lee to be among the wickets, possibly a fifer. Expect Sehwag to be a failure, so too Hayden. I forecast a low scoring match, which would make it Australia the favorites, unless Ponting sticks to his stupid "defensive" placement.
if there is bounce india should do well as most of the batsman like laxman shewag, tendulkar, dravid are good backfoot players,if india bat first and score a decent total
australia will find it tough as they have struggled against the moving ball in australia also.

Haha, what the hell?

Am supporting India as well now. Bloody hell. Ashamed to be a Victorian.
So would I

Siddle eh? I guess he has photos of Ponting that Ponting does not want to be released. Anyway Corey to come in here and tell we don't know **** and Siddle is of course a wise selection and will prove it during this Test in 5..4..3

Well, McGrath played Tests after only 8 FC matches and Siddle has played 12. In both their initial careers, they both played in a Sheffield Shield/Pura Cup final, both have taken wickets against the best batting line-ups in the country (and in the finals they played in) and they're quite similar bowlers in many ways at the same stages of their careers, McGrath perhaps a touch more consistent but Siddle quicker. Both have a rep for being wicket-takers and a fair bit better than even their good stats would suggest.

It's not a ridiculous pick. Bolly should have gotten the nod on form and his place in the queue. I don't think it's because the selectors are adverse to two lefties, either. I reckon Siddle is actually rated quite highly and having seen him bowl a bit, it's not hard to see why. Genuine heavy-ball bowler, moves the ball at really good pace and has a nasty bouncer.

Assuming all is fit, I would of thought the ranking order for Australian quicks would of been:

Brett Lee
Stuart Clark
Mitchell Johnson
Doug Bollinger (given that he got picked on this and the WI tour)
Ashley Noffke
Ben Hilfenhaus
Peter Siddle (could move above Noffke and Hilfenhaus since he got picked for this Test)
Steve Magoffin

Anyone want to correct me?

I have no qualms with Siddle's selection. Noffke obviously is the most deservant of the position but he's not in the squad is he. People who think Hilfenhaus should be in there are ********. He bowled poorly last domestic season, I don't think that warrants test selection. Siddle on the other hand had a marvellous year. They're rewarding form to a young bloke, good to see.

Ouch, Craigos.

Nah not really.

EDIT: And Richard called ME Nostradamus.

Siddle getting in ahead of Bollinger is not the worst selection ever IMO. He seems like a pretty good bowler, but then again I can't see how he can get in ahead of Bollinger as bollinger seems to be ahead of him in the pecking order and has more first class experience. Mind you Im not unhappy to see Siddle make his debut, just surprised.

Maybe its got to do with the foot makrs outside off. Two left hand bowlers would exaggerate the problem.

Shaun Tait would have to be up there somewhere and Brett Geeves having just got picked for Australia in the ODIs would be given some consideration too. Also Nathan Bracken, so that's 11 quality bowlers.

This is what the selectors are thinking IMO. I think the positions could change HEAPS in such a short period of time however.
1 Brett Lee
2 Stuart Clark
3 Mitchell Johnson
4 Peter Siddle
5 Ashley Noffke
6 Doug Bollinger
7 Shaun Tait
8 Nathan Bracken
9 Brett Geeves
10 Ben Hilfenhaus
11 Steve Magoffin
12 Ryan Harris

I'll make a new thread for this..

This is Test only though. Moved Siddle up since he will be Test cap 403 tomorrow.
