WTF? for me the obvious choice is to stay for JUST 3 more balls?

How is that the obvious choice? They need to win the test to level the series...surely they need as much time as possible to score the runs?!

There's only 3 more balls in the day, which most likely won't be missed tomorrow. Why stay out when the light isn't the best and risk losing a wicket now?

There is absolutely no point at all staying out there for three extra balls. It will achieving nothing but perhaps a couple extra runs, or at the worst, a wicket.

I think Ponting just delayed bringing back the proper bowlers so it'd give the players some material for the shedload of books they'll publish next year.
