The Wheel is Forever
Still calling for Chopra's inclusion SilentStriker?
Yes. I don't believe Gambhir will be successful outside the subcontinent. He's like Jaffer, but worse. He scores doubles too, but not when the pitch doesn't help him.

In any case, I don't think Gambhir will be dropped soon, so it's a moot point. Plus, I haven't tracked how Chopra did last season or two, but if he did well, I'd definitely back him.

well i think badrinath would be coming in for ganguly most likely maybe rohit sharma for Dravid, i dont think yuvraj can make it into the team now and uthappa is obviously not suited for the test matches who else is there?

other choice for 3rd would be Raina i guess..

Kaif doesnt seem to be able to get it right on the international level.
Sharma is just not ready. I would definitely not pick him. Badrinath, and Chopra (he can open with Gambhir moving down).

Fielding has been excellent. Definitely saved anything between 25-40 runs so far. Though Hayden probably missed a catch.

Bit disappointed with Ponting setting defensive field against the best bowler so far, Clark.
When VVS, who is a lovely batsman but terrible runner between the wickets, can simply amble though for singles, you know the fieldsmen are standing on the backfoot - that's not good

As for Ponting, on virtually every occasion where Aus has faced a large total, he simply goes ultra-defensive and seems to do little more than wait for a declaration

Anyway, if nothing else, hopefully this tour will bring changes to the Australian selection and management team because they are truly crap and deserve to be treated in the same way as players who dont perform

Real Litmus test for Ponting as captain this?

AWTA your points on Laxman.

Don't really see how Watson was any worse than Katich really.

Expect Watto will get a low fine, and hopefully he'll learn his lesson to keep his frustration under control more in the future. He's a better bowler with a smile on his face anyway.

Gambhir will be in hot water given he's been found guilty of barging a bowler less than a year ago. However I doubt he'll get suspended, probably 100% fine and a final warning. I'm sure Chris Broad values his job!

i think gambhir needs to come out and make a public apology or something after the test cuz that sort of physical stuff really has no place on the cricket field.

happy to see Lee back in the attack.

Katich deliberately running into Gambhir was what, mental disintegration????

Not Terrible
Laxman at the moment has the same amount of 4's as Tendulkar did when he got out yet has 40 more runs. 11 4's, odd I always thought Laxman was a boundary scoring player while Tendulkar tended to find the two's and three's easily.

well you not wrong there this has been a sturdy innings from Lux. umm when he first came in lax took a lot of singles getting gambhir onto strike a lot this was during the post tea massacre whr gambhir ripped the bowlers a new one ;)
