Didn't India get a call their way with Ganguly on the 1st day? I was not watching at the time, so I did not see it apart from reading about it.
It was a jest post. Yep, the Ganguly stumping was ridiculous courtesy Rudi, though it can be argued for sake, that Dhoni's lbw was also ridiculous, again courtesy Rudi.

Do Indians really appreciate how good Sharma is? All I've heard from some of my Indian mates is that "he's good, but he's not been tested much", etc, and then go laud some batsmen like Badrinath as the second coming of Christ.

Is it true or just my perception that Indian batsmen are more loved than their bowlers?
No different to anywhere else I reckon. Think of how under-rated McGrath is in Aus.

Yeah, but Ganguly didn't go ahead to make a triple century like Watson will, did he? :D

Not sure it's true...what about Warne compared to Ponting or Lillee compared to Chappell. And if it is, to that extent? I just think if Sharma were on our side we'd be lauding him much more than the Indians.

Nope. Probably you made your perceptions based on an awfully small sample. Ishy is a hit here. Heh, his bid in the IPL would be enough to support that.

The reason traditionally Indian batsmen are revered than bowlers is that the batsmen were usually world class, and bowlers supporting act. I mean, we have produced Tendulkar, Dravid, Gavaskar, Laxman, etc etc, but in the bowling case, we have had only a Kapil and Kumble to speal of, and they too can't be really said the best in their trade.

Nope, all you need to watch the news channels here.

Anyone see the comparison between this match and the first one?

India were 7-232

Hopefully we can get the same result.

Both those guys, I reckon it surely their personalities more than their bowling which made them such a hit publically, though. McGrath is one of the best, most accomplished quicks Aus has ever seen yet he's rarely mentioned as such. For overall achievement, respect from peers and pundits, he should be a superstar but instead, we only hear about Ponting, the Waughs, etc. I definitely get the vibe batsmen are favoured in this country. Which is ridiculous considering all batsmen anywhere who have ever played the game suck.

Is the CricInfo guy smoking crack? First we have gone from Watson at the crease and now back to Haddin who is facing Sharma?

And now he's declared an Australian win a possibility as "the way Watson & Lee are batting, they can go on until 450 plus and then the Aussie bowlers can Indian batsmen cheaply in the second innings to chase a small target in the 4th innings"

Taxi!
