***Official Australia in India***

Salamuddin

International Debutant
Dropping Johnson is out of the question - he is working hard, bowling well, getting the rewards and has stepped up to the mark when it matters

Clarke, on the other hand, is not dependable when the pressure is on

Personally, I couldnt give a toss whether Symonds ever turned up to another team meeting, photo shoot, whatever - I'd have him in the team every day of the week before Clarke because he delivers when it matters
He wasn't dropped for missing a team meeting you dolt.

That whole team discipline thing was BS. Symonds was dropped because they didn't want him ******** things up by getting himself into more controversy into India.
It was a a case of prevention is better than cure.

Hope India bowl well today and get Australia dismissed cheaply.

Reckon we're seeing the beginning of the end of Matthew Hayden's career.
He's 37 is a week or so, so obv he won't be around much longer. Probably will go till the Ashes 09 and be phased out in ODIs before that.

I personally reckon Hayden should retire this Aussie summer....
I fancy he may not have such a happy time in RSA or in England next year if he were to go.

What an utter load of Bull****. So it is a fact that Ganguly faked Injury in Nagpur test ? It is a personal attack on Sourav and completely unfounded accusation. So If Ganguly was fit (for the 3rd test) why didn't he play in Mumbai test ? That toss was a misunderstanding because of the coin used and anyone can have that. Another stupid claim of celebrating with a Red cloth , calling him 'Raj' , talking about his 'odd vegetarian' habits are highly ignorant stuff. Because, there are many Indians who have those 'Odd Vegetarian' habits because of their religious beliefs.

Only valid comment in that article was from John Buchanan, which is right on spot, rest of the article is same old crap that has been reported zillion times in the past.

Coach Buchanan is absolutely right though when he says :-

""Sourav is an engaging fellow, almost contradictory in everything he does. He is so skilful with his batting and bowling, yet so lacking in basic skills when it comes to fitness, running between wickets or ground fielding. He is a great tactician, yet makes many tactical errors. He is so courteous, yet so ignorant of basic human courtesies at times. He can be an inspiring leader, yet can be the wrong person to lead."
Yeh agreed, the article was total crap. A bunch of it suspected, none of it proven. I'm no Ganguly apologist but it's ridiculously harsh on him.

As for Haydos, can we please stop the eulogising (not just at people here but at writers like Chloe Saltau)? He's just come back from a long lay-off with an Achilles injury (anyone who's ever had one will attest to how long it takes to come back from and trust it again), got a shocking decision in the first innings of the first Test, a dodgy in the second and after spending 5 sessions in the field, got out early (that there is why opening batsmen's averages are lower than everyone else's). As far as I'm concerned, he'd need to have a run of outs in this series and the home summer against SA and NZ as well as make noises himself about not being in the groove mentally before his place is under threat.

Or just go fishing...

I personally reckon that Australia failure to bowl out India out on that final day in Bangalore is going to hurt them bigtime in the context of the series.

Really? Not winning the first test in a 4-match series when they were in a dominant position, you think that would harm their chances? What a gutsy prediction! :p

You could say it differently.

India's stirring fightback in the second innings at Bangalore, could go a long way to help them defeat Australia in this series.

Although both this and your own version would be off the mark.

yeah, hilarious.

The point is winning the toss and batting first is gonna be crucial to Australia's chances of winning tests here.
Australia have won good tosses in India in 2003 and 2004 and in 2007 and they really needed to make Bangalore count.

First of all, it is silly to address me as Sardarji. Yes I am a Sikh, but it is terrible manners to address people by their religion (I know people do it in my country and it is incorrect and a social malaise).

Coming to your question, and its the final time, I am ever going to address you I think........

By forcing a draw in the first Test India or Australia ( by failing to force a win in the first Test) have reduced this contest to a three Test series. Thats all there is to it.

There is no reason to believe that Australia are not good enough to beat India in a three Test series.

Good bye.

Will never happen if we lose this Test. Can pretty much kiss the series goodbye if we have another bad session this morning.

I think there is a bit of an overreaction regarding Haydos' poor form around here, of course when one turns 37 even two or three bad performances are enough to make tongue wagging, but Haydos is still a very important player for Australia, and i think he should atleast stick around till Ashes 09 as an opening combination of Katich-Jaques isn't really exciting enough to force Haydos' into retirement.

Realistically speaking Aussies would do well to get out of this game with a draw and even for that to happen the Aussie batsmen (also read as Mike Hussey) would have to bat out of their skins from here on in though.
