And there is the end....

India needed 30 more. Australia are in it still.

Bad decision again, this time against India.

Referrals please!
470 after being 160/4 is an excellent result. It all depends on getting Hayden early for mine. This is the type of wicket he will love.

Another shocker from Rudi, but hats off to Siddle, the kid has bowled his heart out on a very flat deck, and irrespective of what his stats might say he should be proud of his performance.

What did dhoni do at the end.?
Mishra is a very decent bat and he refused to trust him or zaheer.

Btw ,another poor decsion by koetzen to give dhoni out.The ball was clearly clearly striking him ouside off.
Perhaps he was trying to level off his yesterday's decision not to refer.

Poor decisions at the end by Dhoni - both Zaheer and Mishra are more than capable lower-order batsmen. India should have easily carried on to 500. Excited to see how our new full-strength attack (no Kumble) fares on this pitch.

Hmm I don't know - lost 3 or 4 unnecessary wickets there. I would be a lot more comfortable if we got 500+. Still back Australia to get very close or surpass India at this point.

Aussies need a substantial lead if they want to win this and getting substantially over 470 isn't exactly a doddle. Still think we're well placed.

Terrible cricket by Dhoni in the end. Should've had more faith in Zaheer Khan. He cost himself a well deserved century in the end and cost India a potential total of 500. Why would you not have faith in Zaheer when he's been at the top of his game is beyond me. Played right into Australia's tactics did Dhoni.

Nontheless it's a solid total by India, very pleased overall. Dhoni's innings was terrific and I always knew he'd have an impact on this pitch. Hoping Zaheer and Ishant can get a quick couple of breakthroughs before the pitch starts to break up.

Yes and no

Good recovery and 469 is a good score but this wicket has been very flat and outfield fast so its worth quite a bit less than Australia's 430 in the last test IMO

As I said earlier, a lot really depends on how quickly the wicket deteriorates and if Hayden can regain some touch because he has the ability to nullify the spinners and that puts a heap of pressure on the other bowlers

Trust me to put a bet on Australia @ $7 and now we're in big trouble. Really hope the Kat can score at more than 12 in this innings.

Well I've been in NZ since Wedneday and haven't kept up with things, but can someone tell me how the **** Peter Siddle played this test match? Move over Joe Angel.

Anyways, WD to Tendulkar on the record - well deserved, great player that he is.
Just saw the last session and the wicket seems very flat - has it been like that all test so far?

Also good to see Dhoni find some form, his batting was not what it can be out here last summer.

Anyway, half in the bag here at the hotel in Auckland, and there's a hair dresser's convention on in the hotel I'm in. So, as much as I really do love cricket, think I'll hit the bar.

What the **** is Ponting doing, that was sucidial attempt for a run, need a few big partnerships in the top order and Ponting has to lead the way (as always).

Terrible shot to just a run of the mill delivery

Despite getting 2 shocking decisions in the first test, Hayden was obviously in poor form and that has continued
I think it is more of a case of him being rusty and short on match-practice, but he is too good player to be kept quite for too long so i am sure he would bounce back soon.
