When Rasel opens their bowling no way. Hopes bowling is not fantastic but from what i've seen of his bowling at international level, his bowling looks like the type of bowler that would be effective on slow wickets or if the main quicks run through an opposition top order he could send down 10 economical overs without going for much similar to Mascarenhas.

But if its a flat deck, he will be a target for the batsmen.

Rasel is a better bowler than Hopes IMO. Both have very little pace but at least Rasel gets lots of movdment. It wasn't a literal comment anyway; I was just expressing how little I rated his bowling.

I read somewhere in CW that Hopes has started bowling around 140k, is that true?
But still Hopes's bowling record in the last domestic season and his recent performances with the ball against Pakistan A doesn't suggest that he is too dire a bowler.
Anyways, bad news guys the venue where tomorrow's match is to be played is almost submerged under water and its raining there constantly and i don't think any play would be possible in tomorrow's game (if a full game takes place tomorrow then it would be a miracle, thats how bad the conditions are at that venue atm).
I am feeling really mad at this, i was really looking forward to this series but the rain has dampened the spirits.

I don't think that's true, but I think its important to remember as a general point that you can bowl at 140kph and still be quite dire.

Yeah Matt thats true, but still i hope Hopes can make a mark in international cricket this time around because this might very well be his last chance at this level.

18.1 overs, 1/128 (eco rate >7) in the one-dayers against Pak A is actually quite dire IMO.

Maybe he was rusty?

2nd ODI will be washed out. The forecast for the 3rd is not rosy.

The Mumbai venue may also be changed because the victorious celebrations on winning T20 WC has ruined the pitch there.
