Just another reason for India to be overconfident!! Just hope they reign in their horses and concentrate on the HARD work ahead.Watson and Johnson are resting, going home early. So a pretty good chance for India to strike back.
I see your point. But the Indian psyche (not all the players , mind you) is that they want to hammer the bowlers and have an 'easy' victory. Not for them the grit, the fight, the sweat and the blood. Why do you think they keep going back to Dravid, who is the master at those sort of fights.Cant agree with this reasoning. Its still AUS - the best team in the world, surely IND players would see this weakened AUS team has great chance to topple them, just like what South Africa did recently.
AUS just played the better cricket & it is not first time this has happened either. Back in 2003 a similar second string AUS bowling attack toppled IND at home.
Thats not that hard to do when you have Praveen, Nehra etc bowling.I think he's been your best bowler this series by some margin tbh.
Welcome notorious. I'm expecting B.I.G things from you.
<Takes hat, leaves>
He's not even in the squad so no chance of him playing thats for sure.Ojha has been quite ridiculosly sidelined despite having made a solid ODI debut against the best in the business like Sri Lanka. It is a fact that most batsmen in limited overs cricket do not find left arm spinners easy. I hope he gets the nod in tomoorow's mathc.
Yeah it's top stuff. Can't believe we beat India at their home minus 10 players (or something like that). Epic effort IMO.
Hard to argue with that especially if you add Marsh to the squad.Yeah it's top stuff.
Still Dougy has to be in our standard ODI XI now.
First choice lineup IMO:
Watson
Haddin
Ponting
Clarke
Hussey
Ferguson
Hopes
Johnson
Lee
Hauritz
Bollinger
Bracken
Paine
Siddle
White
Would start White over Ferguson given he basically replaces Symonds as the big hitting middle-order player.Yeah it's top stuff.

It not really Sid fanboysim though. Siddle definately has the tools to be a very good ODI bowler. Obviously Bollinger has gotten the better early success, but its not clear cut than Bollinger should play ahead of him in ODIs ATS at all. But very nice competition.Siddle's still very hit and miss, particuarly in the limited overs arena. Bollinger really hasn't put a foot wrong in any one dayers so far and if the selectors could see past the Sid fanboyism then they would realise a need to give Bollinger a chance at the minimum.
.White is still a bit inconsistent compared to Ferguson, another person who hasn't put a foot wrong at all for an even longer period of time.
Hopes position will never be safe. But the main reason for playing him is because Watson can't be relied on to give 10 quality overs in ODIs all the time. I dont mind having him the main XI - a good utility man.Hopes' value has decreased greatly since he was in the team mainly for his tightish 10 overs (considering the fact that he isn't a good finisher as Ferguson or anyone else).
Seriously, when has he actually done that? Every knock I've seen him play at 4 has been pretty circumspect, Michael Clarke-esque in general. As i said White gives back the power htting in the middle order now that Symonds is gone & thats a important.
Nah man you forgetting what he did 5th ODI already?. Him in the last few months being able to bat up the order & some circumspect play to his game, is great for White. Since before i reckon most saw him as slogger (i did) who certainly felt him batting @ 4 was way too high for him in international cricket, so he has displayed some great versality in his batting.Seriously, when has he actually done that? Perhaps that was because he was batting at 4. If you put him at 6 or 5, I think he is still the better hitter by some margin over Clarke... I am not too sure about blokes like Ferguson as I have not seen them much but if I were to pick an Aussie ODI side, this would be my XI:Seriously, when has he actually done that? Clearly the man you are looking for is Jason Krejza. He's been batting as high as 7 recently for Tassie and has been bowling very tidy spells recently. Is there any spin bowling all rounder (bowling all rounder, not like White) in Australia? Marcus North?
