Sky's ceiling is quite high. But I will bat him at 6 in odis right now till he settles into the format.

I will seriously bat Axar at 4 instead. Rahul at 5 SKY at 6 and Hardik at 7.

This is like the ODI Starc of the mid-10s where destroying opposition batting line-ups with the new ball was a regular occurrence.

Probably never been a better ODI new ball bowler than Starc of that era.

Yeah these two games are the best Starc's looked since the 2019 WC. No surprise given another one is just around the corner

Yeah he’ll be pretty happy assuming they will be using these type of balls at the WC

Nice snare that!

Big Trouble for India, and looks like a good batting track too. Just excellent bowling from Starc & a good catch.

so the only way I can make sense of Stonis/Green opening the bowling in front of Abbott/Ellis is that they know Haze/Cummins have got that spot open for them, and they want to see Abbott/Ellis bowl all their overs with the non-new ball as a trial.....? i dunno

Got to give Starc another over assuming he isn’t cooked. If he can break this partnership they’ll be well on the way

Has Stoinis ever done anything is ODIs since that amazing 140 odd vs. NZ early in his career?

Can't understand why he continues to get picked, even with Maxwell injured.

Yeah it’s a mystery to most aussie fans too tbh

Whatever it takes!!!
I dont think the best Aussie ODI line up is that hard to pick.

Starc, Cummins, Haze and Zampa are your bowlers. And 2 of them can give it a whack when needed with the bat. So that is good.

Maxwell and Mitch Marsh/Cam Green are your allrounders. One can bowl spin and the other can bowl seam, so that is sorted too.

Carey is the keeper.

Now you just need to select your 4 best batsmen - Warner, Head, Smith is a settled top 3.

I guess where you run into a conundrum is that 4th batsman. I suppose the Aussies genuinely think MMarsh can be the #4 bat and give a few overs? But if he can bat 4, you have the option of picking a specialist bat at 6, maybe a Tim David?
