I don't think endearing himself with his captaincy will ever be a state that Steve Smith ever has to worry about lmao. Even without the obvious, he was an infamously... sharp... captain as far as on-field conduct goes.

Yeah you’re right, Smith did cop a fine for his conduct during the incident though

Yeah it crossed my mind as I was writing that post.

But I do love watching his antics on field. He's probably the least self-aware cricketer I've ever seen, he almost certainly has no idea how he looks. Definitely time for the umpires to tell him to tone it down a notch though.

"I don't think we're not nice guys. We play a good, hard, aggressive brand of cricket," Smith said, admitting he and Hazlewood were wrong in how they approached the umpires.

"For us it's about knowing where that line is and myself and Josh Hazlewood have crossed that line in this Test match and that's not what we're about, and hopefully we can learn from that and continue to develop as a team and get better."
