Very difficult to know what to think of that. Could easily get shot out for double figures here but India really did not bat well at all.

As bad as this pitch is, it still does not feel like a 109 a.o. pitch... I just feel like batsmen have really lost the ability to play any really difficult conditions.

No one has consistently succeeded in difficult conditions throughout Test history.

If we're on form, all out 87.

If we're at our best, all out 143

Hoping for neither

No individual, but batting line ups have managed to consistently get reasonable scores... the target does not always have to be 450+, it can be a good solid 250 in difficult conditions.

Whatever it takes!!!
Aus should really back themselves to bat normally and make 200.

India should aim to keep them 160-180 and then ask the batsmen to step up and make 250.

Both teams have a very good chance of going too hard and losing the plot here though. More likely India, unfortunately. :(

I honestly think it would be a 200 par wicket. Sometimes the first session dampness and some accurate bowling can end up creating such run throughs.

India 40 runs below par
Nah 50 above par for mine.

Joking aside, If Ashwin and Jadeja aren't licking their lips over bowling here they never will. I'd give the pacers one over each and if they don't break through (or look extremely likely) revert straight to spin.

at least you should have batsmen that can play good at home despite all the people here obsessed with balanced records and checklist analysis. current India team is failing even at that
Dude, since England's victory a decade ago India have lost two test matches at home and generally smashed teams. Settle down.

Indian batsmen sure have. awful batting lineup
Most of it is lost in the head, India probably scores 150-200 on these pitches 9/10 times. Away from home on similarly difficult surfaces they collapse maybe 9/10 times? They simply checked out mentally this innings!

I mean it would be nice to have more than feelings though. We've seen these collapses even during some of the best times to bat when the odd pitch was ridiculous.
